Today we’d like to introduce you to Janelle Gabriel.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I became a licensed Esthetician and Brow Artist in 2010.
While working as a beauty advisor for Nordstrom, I was introduced to Anastasia Beverly Hills. Closely working with the product, I then became the Counter Manager for Anastasia Beverly Hills at Nordstrom where I was trained as an Anastasia Brow Artist/Esthetician. After being promoted to a higher volume counter, I gained more knowledge and experience while growing my clientele. After three years of building up the counter, my attention to detail and an eye for the art of eyebrows, I decided to branch out on my own, becoming the business owner of Janelle Taylor. I have been in business seven years April 2023. I am booked out 60 days in advance with clients always waiting to get in which shows the hard work, dedication and loyalty to not only my clients but my business itself. I love being in the beauty industry and have guided multiple clients who want to also become estheticians/brow artists helping direct them to the proper schooling and trainings they need to pursue this career. I believe what got me where I am in my business today is the honesty and loyalty I have to my clients treating everyone equally and as I would want to be treated as a client. Without my clients and the dedication I have I would not be where I am at today.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I wouldn’t say it was a smooth road getting to where I am today and the successes I have had in my business but I will say it has been a learning experience that I am grateful for. Being a young Mom has been one of my toughest struggles by far. I actually became a licensed Esthetician before receiving my diploma. Soon after I had to work my way up in the beauty industry taking any position to gain the proper experience and knowledge. Another struggle I would say many of us go through is trusting the wrong people in this industry because not everyone has good intentions and some people see you as an opportunity instead of a person. We all go through struggles in any aspect of life when you are growing. My biggest takeaway from all of them is deal with it, learn from it, and move forward. All the struggles I have been through is what make me who I am today motivated, passionate, and ready to learn.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am an Esthetician who specializes in waxing specifically eyebrows. I am known for the way I shape and wax brows keeping them full and natural. When sitting in my chair clients feel relaxed and confident in me achieving the perfect shape brows for their facial structure which makes me extremely proud. I think the gentle touch I have when waxing and the honest consultations I have with each client set me apart from other brow artists but also willing to learn from others.
