Rising Stars: Meet Jack Hops

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jack Hops.

Hi Jack, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My artistic journey started at the age of 12\13, where I was given my first guitar. I started to create our first band together with Mark DBLM (he played bass). We played Punk Rock and various covers. That band lasted a few years but even today certain sounds in my beats, especially in the guitars, are very reminiscent of that sound. At 15 I started discovering the world of beatmaking. In the first period, I only produced hip hop, but by attending many evenings in the clubs of Milan, I began, always together with Mark DBLM, to produce and play on the console under the pseudonym of “Alti Bassi \ AB”. The productions and live performances with Ableton during the evenings have led to playing at the Eco Festival in Slovenia, Cafè 2001 in London, and New Year’s Eve 2015 together with Len Faki and many others. We were residents for several evenings in Milan\Italy. In 2017, I opened my first studio in Milan where I was able to study and focus on the search for my artistic identity. In 2020, I moved near Lake Garda (Verona, ITALY), where I opened my second production studio and began the current collaboration with LIL MILE, producing the theme song LBA (Italian Basketball League A Championship), becoming the first artists in Italy to collaborate directly, with this sport at the highest levels.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I actually never felt this pressure of “becoming famous” necessarily. I have always studied and worked to buy the necessary equipment to have my own studio with everything I needed. Music for me is still like a liberation, necessary to feel good. I believe that consistency brings results in any case and I must say that I am gradually seeing them.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
At the moment I am working together with LIL MILE on several projects involving the Italian basketball league and many other productions that will be revealed soon. I am also a DJ and play in arenas during halftime of several matches hearing my productions in front of 5000+ people and every time a great goal.

I think what distinguishes me is the imprint I put into the studio sessions based on the artist. My musical elasticity, the very deep sounds, and all the influences that can be heard in my beats.
