Rising Stars: Meet Frank Fiola of Los Angeles / OC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Frank Fiola.

Hi Frank, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Acting was always the first thing I wanted to do. Growing up, I fell in love with going to the cinema, watching movies on the big screen, and being transported into different worlds through storytelling. That was what initially inspired me to pursue acting. Along the way though, I got sidetracked by basketball, which became another huge passion of mine. I dedicated a lot of time to it, and in many ways, it took me in a different direction for a while. But life has a funny way of bringing you full circle. When basketball reached a turning point in my life, I found myself coming back to that original dream of acting. I started taking the necessary steps toward pursuing it seriously, and as I immersed myself in the craft, I fell in love with it all over again, but on a much deeper level. From there. Things slowly started coming together. Of course, it’s not been without its challenges, trials and tribulations, but every experience has taught me something and helped shape who I am as an actor today. Looking back, it feels like I’ve come full circle, returning to something that was always a part of me, and I’m excited to keep growing and see where this journey takes me.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
One of the biggest struggles has been staying patient through the ups and downs. There are long stretches without auditions, rejections, and also figuring out how to balance the craft with the practical side of living in this industry. learning resilience, keeping my training fresh, and trusting the timing even if it felt slow. Those challenges kind of strengthened my commitment rather than lessened it.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a film and television actor with over 10 years of experience, working across drama, thrillers, and comedy. I’ve had the opportunity to work on projects for networks and platforms like Lifetime, CBC, and Apple TV+, and I’ve been fortunate to share the screen with some incredibly talented people.

I tend to gravitate toward characters with depth, complexity, and a strong presence. I enjoy exploring the layers beneath a character what they’re thinking, what they’re hiding, and what motivates them. I love bringing a sense of truth and humanity to my roles, whether I’m playing a detective, a father, or a character navigating difficult circumstances.

What I’m most proud of is the journey itself. I’ve worked hard to build my career, overcome obstacles, and continue growing in the craft. Acting is something I’ve developed a deeper appreciation for over time, and I’m proud of the projects I’ve been a part of and the relationships I’ve built along the way.

I think what sets me apart is my combination of presence, intensity, and approachability. I can bring strength and authority to a character, but I also enjoy finding the vulnerability, warmth, or humor underneath that exterior. Ultimately, I want to bring something honest and memorable to every role I take on.

What were you like growing up?
growing up I was a mix of things. On one hand, I was sometimes the class clown, making people laugh, And trying to bring some lightness. But on the other hand, I was pretty shy, anxious, and Often just kept to myself. My interests were kind of an escape, like going to the cinema, losing myself in movies, playing video games, or hanging out with friends. Looking back, those things helped me balance out the harder parts of childhood. And that’s shaped who I became.
