Today we’d like to introduce you to Fazon Gray
Hi Fazon, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I was born in Harlem, New York, and have been part of the modeling industry since 2008. Growing up, I was passionate about basketball and fitness, which instilled in me the discipline and drive I carry into my work today.
When I started modeling, the landscape was very different—there was no social media. Back then, many of us were discovered on the street or through word of mouth. For me, it began with people repeatedly telling me I should try modeling. Eventually, I decided to explore it for myself. It’s one thing for others to see potential in you, but it takes courage to take that leap, especially in an industry where so much is based on appearance.
Having a strong support system made all the difference. My mom believed in me enough to pay for my first modeling class, even while I was juggling school, basketball, and those classes. That was my teenage life—and the moment I fell in love with modeling.
Getting to where I am today has been all about consistency. I’ve applied to countless gigs, attended networking events, collaborated with various agents and managers, and continually put myself out there. The hard work paid off, and now I’m fortunate to have opportunities coming to me. It’s been a journey of resilience, self-belief, and perseverance.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The journey has been far from smooth. Many of my struggles stem from finding a balance between staying true to myself and meeting the expectations of companies and others who often want you to fit a certain mold—to play a role they’ve envisioned.
One of my favorite photographers, Dallas Logan, gave me a piece of advice that stuck with me: it’s okay to say no.
Aspiring models, in particular, often feel pressured to do whatever it takes to achieve the industries version of success. But I’ve learned that saying no, while empowering, can make the road to success more challenging. It’s not always easy, but staying authentic to who I am has been worth it.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a fitness and fashion model, influencer, and now, an actor. I’ve become known for my distinctive physique, hand modeling, and a bold, masculine approach that sets me apart in the modeling world.
One of the things I’m most proud of is the opportunity to travel and connect with inspiring individuals across the industry—it’s those connections that fuel my passion.
I strive to bring a unique energy to every shoot and every product I represent. For me, it’s about more than just the visuals—I aim to share a piece of myself in everything I do, inspiring and motivating those in my community along the way.
What makes you happy?
Being in front of the camera brings me so much joy—it’s the kind of happiness that keeps me coming back. For me, it’s all about the magic that happens when you truly connect with the photographer. That synergy, that shared energy, is what elevates the moment, letting you strike the perfect pose and capture something extraordinary.
