Rising Stars: Meet Chad Fishburne of West Hollywood

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chad Fishburne

Hi Chad, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My career began in an improv comedy troupe in Atlanta, reminiscent of “Whose Line Is It Anyway?”, leading to my first emceeing gig as the In-Game Host for the Atlanta Hawks. Over the years, I have showcased my versatility and dynamic stage presence by emceeing for the Atlanta Braves, interviewing American Ninja Warriors, and introducing stars ranging from Jason Aldean to Saturday Night Live legend Darrell Hammond. My experience as an emcee spans over 16 years and my resume is both extensive and impressive. As a teenager, I began my journey in martial arts and have been in love with it ever since. Ring announcing allows me to blend my passion for combat sports with my talent for emceeing, bringing energy and excitement to every event. Known for my catchphrase, “It’s time for this crowd to get loud!” (trademark pending), my ultimate goal is to announce for top-tier promotions such as the UFC, PFL, One Championship, and Glory Kickboxing. My improv and comedy skills set me apart, allowing me to handle any situation with ease and humor, making me a fan favorite. My dedication to each gig ensures client satisfaction, and my diverse experience makes me a solid fit for almost any emcee or hosting role. With exciting prospects for the future, I continue to captivate audiences worldwide. As a rising star in the world of combat sports, I currently work with multiple MMA, Boxing, and Muay Thai promotions. I am the official ring announcer for Peak Fighting Championship and Melee Combat Championship (both based in Texas) as well as a regular announcer for Up Next Fighting here in Los Angeles.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
There have been a few “pivots” in my journey as a performer. My wife, Stacey, and I moved to LA as actors (big surprise) and found it to be quite the leap from the Atlanta market. Next came comedy writing and performing for iO West as well as stand-up. Comedy has always been part of me and it always will be, but with ring announcing– I found my true calling.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
As an emcee, I have worked in multiple industries. However, two are recurring themes– professional sports and cars. I have a strong passion for both. I specialize in emceeing live events, specifically combat sports. I’m known for my powerful voice and catchphrase– “It’s time for this crowd to get loud!” (trademark pending)I pride myself in pumping up the fighters and crowd. I know how much effort the athletes and their teams put in so it’s important to me to put my all into my work. It makes me proud when fighters I have announced reach out to me to say that I excited them before their fight or that they want me to announce them again the next time they fight. That makes me feel like I have done my job. I always want to put on the best show possible. I’m fanatical about proper pronunciations because, for me, it’s all about respect. I want someone to say my name correctly so why wouldn’t I say theirs correctly? And it’s more than just the fighters– it’s their gym, team, trainers, family, and friends. All of it matters because no one does it alone. My voice, improv skills, catchphrase, and passion cannot be rivaled. I’m ready for the next step in my journey.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
I think bareknuckle boxing is having its moment right now, but Muay Thai, boxing, and MMA are not going anywhere. The striking martial arts are the most exciting to me, but I do love how well rounded fighters have to be in MMA. Another organization that interests me is Karate Combat– I really like their rule set and they put on a great show. My prediction– They will continue to grow and challenge the bigger promotions.
