Today we’d like to introduce you to Cederick Campbell.
Hi Cederick, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I feel like I’ve been a content creator my whole life. I’m Gen Z, so I was practically born with a phone in my hand. But even before social media was a thing for me, I was always paying attention to how stuff looked and why it felt a certain way.
It really started when I was 12. My twin brother McKenzie and I would take pictures together, post them, and they’d just take off. We grew an Instagram page to over 90,000 followers before it got deleted. Which was painful, but honestly, it pushed us to figure out who we were on our own.
In 2019, a post of mine just showing my outfits went viral, and people started asking for more. So I kept going. Started posting fashion content, sharing tips, documenting my life here in Detroit. The city just naturally became part of the content. The architecture, the way people dress here, the culture. It’s all connected, and it was already around me every day.
Now I’d describe myself as a local storyteller more than anything. I talk about fashion through an architectural lens and use my platform to show a side of Detroit that doesn’t always get the attention it deserves. I studied architecture, I grew up here, and I’ve always been into clothes. It all just made sense together.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
By the grace of God, the road has been a lot smoother than it could’ve been. I really attribute that to having praying parents. God just covers me and drowns me in his favor.
The biggest block honestly, has been my own mind. Struggling to stay consistent, staying inspired, really understanding my own talent and what I’m capable of. That’s the thing nobody really talks about. The internal stuff is harder than any external obstacle.
But I just pray the Lord keeps my mind sound and peaceful, and I keep working toward my goals.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
At my core, I’m a fashion and lifestyle content creator. What sets me apart is that I talk about fashion from the perspective of an architect. That lens changes everything about how I approach style, storytelling, and visuals.
Beyond content creation, I’m also a creative director. I serve as creative director for Code x Rosella, a production company based in Detroit, where we produce fashion shows, festivals, and showcases. I also serve as creative director of the Creator Club Detroit, where we’re building a real community for content creators within the city.
What I’m most proud of is my ability to blend all of my interests in a way that actually works and translates. Architecture, fashion, Detroit, community. It doesn’t feel forced because it isn’t. And being able to share that journey with thousands of people who are genuinely invested in what I’m doing means a lot.
But the thing I’m proudest of is the impact. Whether that’s helping someone find their style or telling Detroit’s story in a way that makes people understand what’s actually happening here. Detroit is undergoing a massive comeback, and living here is truly fabulous. I just want people to see that.
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
Whatever it is, just start. Allow it not to be perfect in the beginning. Allow yourself to grow with it. Let what you’re doing tell a story of growth and evolution.
That’s really it. I think a lot of people are waiting until everything is aligned and the quality is where they want it to be, and the concept is fully fleshed out. But the people who win are the ones who just got in and figured it out along the way.
