Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandon Hultman.
Hi Brandon, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I grew up in a small town in Virginia, so small and country that it’s literally called Bumpass, VA. Like so many of us, I partied in high school, but I was part of the crew that took it a little further than most. At the time, I was just trying to fit in. Having moved to this small cow town at the start of high school, I was eager to make friends. Sports became my entry point, but without realizing it, I gravitated toward the crowd that partied more than they played.
What I didn’t understand back then was that it wasn’t just about wanting to belong, it was my addiction being awakened, like Dr. Frankenstein’s monster. And every time I drank, “I FELT ALIVE!”
Everything changed when I made the decision to stop running from who I was and start rebuilding my life with honesty and purpose. I had to admit to myself, and to the world, that I was an alcoholic. It wasn’t an easy road, far from it, but it led me to a place of clarity and meaning I never knew existed.
That journey became the foundation for my upcoming book, The Hultman Blueprint, a personal testament to everything I’ve learned about growth, resilience, and the incredible power of starting over. Today, I’m grateful to share that story, with the hope that it reminds others that no matter where you are in life, it’s never too late to rewrite your own narrative.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s definitely been a bumpy journey. There were definitely moments when I felt completely adrift, really questioning my identity and what my next steps should be. But I’ve learned that the only way is forward. The toughest part was confronting myself and being honest about what really needed to change. It’s so tempting to hide behind distractions or achievements, but real growth begins when you peel all that away and face what’s really going on inside. The good, the bad, the gifts and the challenges is the road to where purpose is waiting.
I experienced moments of doubt, fear, and failure, but those were also the times that taught me the most valuable lessons. Failing forward was/is a hard lesson but it is a necessary one. Each setback pushed me to take a step back and rebuild with more purpose and better direction. Looking back, I realize that those struggles were exactly what molded me into the person I am today.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Today, my work revolves around helping people rediscover and reconnect with themselves through honesty, discipline, and consistency. I wear many hats: author, speaker, and fitness coach and all of these roles are tied to a single mission: to show others what’s possible when you truly commit to making real changes in your life.
Fitness has been the cornerstone of my recovery and personal growth journey. It instilled in me a sense of structure, focus, and accountability, serving as a daily reminder that transformation unfolds one choice at a time. Through my speaking engagements and writing, I aim to share the mindset that fuels this process and how it can extend beyond the gym into our relationships, careers, and everyday experiences.
What fills me with pride is how my story resonates with people from all walks of life. I’ve encountered individuals who see reflections of their own struggles in my journey, using that connection as motivation to spark their own transformations. That’s what drives me forward.
What truly sets me apart is that I don’t just discuss change in theory; I’ve lived it. I’ve rebuilt my life from the ground up, and I infuse that truth and authenticity into everything I do.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that real change always starts from within, with the desire to become more and the belief that you’re meant for more. You can change your surroundings, adjust your habits, or even shift your circle, but nothing truly changes until you face yourself with complete honesty.
I’ve also realized that growth isn’t a single moment, it’s a daily decision. Some days you move forward with momentum, other days you just stand your ground, and both matter. Every small step counts.
Most of all, I’ve discovered the quiet power of gratitude. When you stop fixating on what’s missing and start appreciating what’s already there, things begin to fall into place naturally.
