Rising Stars: Meet Bernard Ichkanian of Beverly Hills

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bernard Ichkanian.

Hi Bernard, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Bernard Ichkanian was born and raised in France. His inspiration for beauty and style came at an early age through the influence of his grandmother and aunt, who were both very stylish and elegant women.
 
Growing up in the 80s , his fascination for fashion triggered a strong passion for creativity .
 
Fueled by his mother’s passion for Hollywood movies during his childhood, he decided to move to Los Angeles and was immediately hired at some of the top salons.
 
His talent for hair style and make up was immediately noticed; and he quickly developed a prestigious clientele.
Some of the celebrity clientele include: Faye Dunaway, Sylvie Vartan, Anna Nicole Smith, Jean Claude Van Damme, Jeff Goldblum, Kris Jenner, Cindy Crawford, Olivier Martinez, Wynona Ryder and some of the most influential and powerful individuals he travelled with worldwide to incredible events and locations.

Bernard’s discretion for his clients privacy is only matched by his creativity and skill.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has been a long road, it was beautiful for many many years till people, in the industry or not, start been jealous of you, black bowling you, gaz lighting you and then a nightmare started for many years and being honest, still having a hard to get back to my full potential.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I do makeup and hair, doing my best when I do both. A client may show me what she’s wearing and I’ll come up with a full look, yet I also love working with other talents

What matters most to you? Why?
A woman looking her best is the greatest satisfaction to see her walking away with great confidence
