Rising Stars: Meet Barry Raccio of Century City

Today we’d like to introduce you to Barry Raccio

Hi Barry , so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My story has always been about finding depth, meaning, and balance, both in my own life and in what I share with others. I started in the entertainment industry, working in TV commercials and music, but I quickly realized that I was searching for something more meaningful. That search led me to yoga and spirituality, where I found a sense of purpose I hadn’t experienced before. Diving into Kundalini Yoga was transformative—it gave me tools for grounding and self-awareness that I wanted to bring to others.

Becoming a certified yoga instructor was the next natural step, and as my practice grew, I discovered sound healing. Sound baths, in particular, struck a chord with me because of their power to help people release stress and reconnect with themselves in a way that feels natural and accessible. From there, I founded Century Wellness Studio, where I integrate yoga, sound healing, and wellness practices to create immersive, healing experiences for individuals to corporate wellness events.

I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with amazing brands like Chanel, Hästens, BMW, and United Talent Agency, expanding the reach of these practices to new audiences. I’ve also been fortunate to work with incredible artists, like being featured on Gem’s Healing Feelings LP for the “Soul Bath” track, and recently collaborating with Souleye and Esjay Jones for the first-ever Souleye Fest in Palm Springs.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t always been smooth sailing, but I think that’s just part of the journey when you’re building something meaningful. At the start, I had to make some big shifts—moving from the entertainment world into wellness, and then later, diving into sound healing. Each shift felt like a step toward something deeper, but it wasn’t without its challenges. Honestly, the biggest struggle for me was learning how to market myself. It was a lot of trial and error, learning as I went.

I’ve always believed that these challenges are just opportunities to grow. Every time something felt tough, I learned something new that helped me get closer to what I wanted to do: create space for people to heal, reset, and reconnect with themselves. It’s been a process of evolution, and I’m still learning every day. But at the end of it all, I keep coming back to my mission, which is to help people find peace in the chaos. It’s been a journey, and I’m here for it.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I help people find inner peace and resilience by combining sound healing, yoga, and spiritual practices. Through these sessions, I create experiences that allow people to relax, de-stress, and reconnect with themselves in a meaningful way. Whether it’s through a sound bath or a yoga practice, I focus on helping people feel more grounded and balanced, so they can move through life with more clarity and ease.

A highlight of my career was co-writing the No. 1 bluegrass hit “The Road Before Me” for the legendary Earl Scruggs. This is more than just a song; it’s a reflection of my journey of resilience and purpose. It embodies the spirit of forward motion, a theme I weave into my work to empower others to navigate life’s challenges with grace and strength.

What makes my approach unique is the thought and care I put into every session. I’m about helping people create lasting change, not just offering a moment of peace. The focus is on providing practical tools that people can use in their daily lives—tools that help them stay calm, grounded, and connected to themselves. My work isn’t just about relaxation; it’s about empowering people to move through life with more clarity, strength, and resilience.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success, for me, is a blend of purpose, freedom, and the space to create without limitations. It’s about waking up genuinely excited to do work that feels true to who I am—work that aligns with my values and lets me explore new ideas without needing to fit any mold. When I’m in that flow, where my work feels like a natural extension of myself, that’s when I know I’m succeeding.

It’s also about growth, both personally and professionally. Success isn’t a finish line; it’s an ongoing journey of learning, adapting, and deepening my practice. Every challenge becomes an opportunity to evolve, which keeps me inspired. To me, success means staying aligned with my values, true to my path, and knowing I’m making a real impact along the way.
