Today we’d like to introduce you to Andre Johnson.
Hi Andre, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started my journey to become an actor from friends and family who believed I could be one. They seen something in me that I did not see in myself. I decided one day they were right and I deserve more out of life. So I decided tot just look and see if I can find acting classes. And with that right now currently im signed to 3 agencies, featured in 5 films 3 commercials and growing.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road has not always been smooth on this journey of acting. There has been some struggles from networking with other actors,booking gigs, submitting for auditions on time just to get told no. Sometimes you get discouraged, but the goal is to never give up so I keep following that road. I decided that th only person that can get me to give up would be myself.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
So I started to become known by creating comedy content on social media. I gained a nice following and people would message me all the time telling me how much my content made their day. I need to put myself out there more and they can see me doing movies. I used to laugh about it, but then I also had friends and family. They used to look at me and say the same things so I figured it was a sign so maybe just start acting but what do I start? I actually took the time one day to search for classes and I just found the right program that was a fit for me. I’m so proud because I have been consistent in my training over the last few years and what sent me apart from others is the fact I don’t know anybody else who’s following the same journey so when people see me doing it they’re excited to see me. It’s like I belong here.. I’m energetic and have a great aura that lights up the room when I’m in there. People tend to gravitate towards me and always seem to tell me how my energy is amazing and they could see a light shining above me.
Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My favorite childhood memory would be the times I went to New York and spent it with family that I never got to see because I grew up in Denver and they were all the way on the East Coast. Me and my mother did not get to do this often. Only when family matters happen but when we did, it’s like we never miss a day with each other..
