Rising Stars: Meet Aleksandra Genenfeld

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aleksandra Genenfeld.

Hi Aleksandra, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I have been a fashion photographer for over 12 years. I moved to LA five years ago. Just recently, I opened my self-portrait photo studio, where you can take professional photos without a photographer. You stand in front of the MIRROR with a clicker in your hand, and when you press the button, a photo is taken.

It’s a truly unique experience where you can express yourself and feel like both the model and the photographer. I highly recommend everyone to come and try it out; it’s an unforgettable sensation!

Despite this, I still find time for my upcycled brand, where I transform vintage shirts into something new. These shirts are one-of-a-kind,I strive to bring something special into this world and I want people to be happy and feel unique.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
To be honest, I haven’t experienced any major setbacks or difficult periods in my life. From my perspective, everything is going very well, without any significant upheavals.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
At the moment, I am most proud of my self-portrait photo studio because it is the first of its kind, and I haven’t seen anything like it anywhere else. I feel like I have created something truly unique, and I want every person to come and try it out.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I believe that being lucky is very important! Luck helps us in many aspects of life. Every day, when I talk to my grandmother, she wishes me only one thing: good luck!
