Rising Stars: Meet Addy TPC of Hollywood

Today we’d like to introduce you to Addy TPC.

Hi Addy, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Born and raised in India, I was always fascinated by the power of music and how certain songs could invoke a feeling in me since I was a kid. My parents were also fans of non-film music and western music apart from the Bollywood scene, which exposed me to different sounds and styles of music from a young age. I didn’t start taking music seriously till I was in law school, but when I did, something switched in me and I realised that I would be wasting my life if I don’t pursue my true passion and purpose of music. Then two years ago I decided to leave that life behind, put all my savings on the line, and come to LA to focus on my music. I got a certificate in Music Business and focused all my energy and resources into my music career. After performing live at open mics across LA and building connections with other artists and musicians in LA, I decided to start a new rollout called “Blitz 26” – where I’m releasing 9 new songs with one new song every 9 days. Halfway through this rollout, I’m making new fans across Los Angeles and other parts of California. I’ll be releasing new music videos, doing live shows and doing freestyles on some of the best LA platforms like Corner Store and Barz on Wheels in the coming future

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Addiction took over my life as a teen, which then leaded to me doing illegal activities. Back in 2021, I had to go to rehab for 8 months which was a blessing as it got me closer to God. Today I’m completely drug free and take pride in the fact the people who use drug’s still find my music good, which is essential in the Hip-Hop space. But the road here was not easy, as I got clean the biggest fear in my mind was if my music will hit the same. But through hard work and having faith in myself, today I’m music that is getting amazing response from people across the world

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My strongest skill as an artist is my lyricism, I write my songs within 20-30 minutes and I take pride in the fact that I can write about any subject matter and in any style that the direction of the song asks for. I started of as a pure rapper, being a fan of OG rappers like Pac and Big but in the past few years I’ve been working on my melodies and my vocals. I’m looking forward to exploring other genres like indie and pop but at my core I’ll always be a rapper first. I feel like taking a Hip-Hop based approach while learning and creating in other genres is what will set me apart in the long run

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
I feel like it’s a combination of you going out there to make the most of being in LA and random blessings. Today I’m connected with producers and A&R’s who are at the top of the game and while some I met through attending networking events, others I just met randomly at the gym or walking down Hollywood Boulevard. The key thing though is research, you have to research the genre you’re in and know about the people working behind the scenes, because those are the people you’re more likely to run into.
