Meet Zane Hudson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Zane Hudson.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I was a very energetic chubby kid who loved when I was able to hold the attention of people. I finally had the courage to join Theatre in the eighth grade, where my oddball and overactive personality was finally appreciated and fully supported rather than contained. I felt like I belonged.
I was lucky enough to be cast as Horace Vandergelder in our production of ‘Hello, Dolly!’, where I finally found that my energy and sensitivity helped me create a complete character that I could become rather than hinder the process. From that moment on, I fell in love.
As I grew up in high school, I dove deeper and deeper into Theatre. I had the privilege of being a part of a Theatre department that truly cared about the craft. I learned about every facet of the Theatre, and by the time I was seventeen, I knew that this was what I wanted to give my life to.
After a very lengthy and arduous search for a college to continue my education in Acting, I decided on going to school in New York City at the New York Film Academy. There, I took everything I had learned about Acting for the stage and morphed it into the world of film. I met some exceptional teachers and mentors that taught me how to take the emotional life that I had pouring out of me externally, and internalize it to discover who I really was as a person.
I graduated with a B.F.A. in Acting from the Los Angeles Campus in 2018 with bright eyes and determination. From there, I fought to find myself work with teams that were full of talent and promise.
As of today, I am beyond thankful to have found amazing representation in Vince Lazzo, with inclusion Management all thanks to one of my dearest mentors, Suzanne Kent. I have begun to work on respectable sets where every day feels like a dream come true. I am currently still striving to dive deeper and deeper into my true emotional self, as I will for the rest of my life. But it is safe to say that I know I belong in this world of art, and I couldn’t be more thankful for it. When I become my character, all my problems go away.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Nothing would be worth it if it were easy! Artistically, things have always progressed to a stronger state rather smoothly thanks to hard work and obsessive dedication. But the truth is that all the struggles of surviving in the world that we have created for ourselves, as well as living in a city that shows as little mercy as Los Angeles has forced many obstacles on my path. Luckily, I have found that every moment that brings you to your knees is a necessary step to becoming not only your strongest self, but also a better human being.
Although life as a new member of the industry can be filled with roadblock after roadblock, I have learned compassion and understanding for all walks of life. With each day and each challenge that arises, I strive to become a better human being, thus becoming a more truthful Actor.

Please tell us about your work.
I am an Actor. I live to create stories that connect us to our true selves and help us find a way to become something greater than we are.
While I do work in many different fields of storytelling (writing, directing, etc.), there is no doubt that I am an Actor before anything else.
What I am most thankful for is that people have continuously supported and believed in my work. I am very lucky to have been able to connect with everyone I have worked with or have performed for in my life. I will always believe in myself, but it is a very special privilege to have been so highly regarded amongst my peers.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
Anytime I was able to make my Mother and Father forget about the constant stresses of life and to just smile and live in the moment.
My most cherished memories are little moments spread throughout my early life where I was able to just ‘be’ alongside a Mother and Father who sacrificed everything to give me a life where I can follow my dreams.
