Meet Yesica Metcalf of Lancaster

Today we’d like to introduce you to Yesica Metcalf

Hi Yesica, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Hi there! I’m Yesica Metcalf, the proud owner of Desert MUAH Studio, and I’m so excited to finally share my story with you. Our salon has been open for just three months, but the journey that led to this moment is one I hold deeply in my heart.

Two years ago we moved from Virginia Beach and move to Lancaster with my partner, who serves in the military. That meant starting over, yet again, with no clients, no network—just a dream and the drive to make it happen. The uncertainty was daunting, but I rented a small suite at Sola Salons with nothing but faith and a fierce belief that I could build something meaningful. And, oh, it was terrifying—but I knew it was necessary for growth. During that time, I also began teaching at a local beauty school, where I connected with some of the most inspiring students, all hungry to learn and grow. They not only allowed me to refine my craft, but they also reignited my passion for this industry.

Fast forward to today, and here we are—two years later—having created something truly special. I’ve met incredible people in Lancaster, and I’ve fallen completely in love with this vibrant, supportive community. The experiences I’ve gained since 2005 have shaped me, and it was in this town that I decided to lay down roots and open Desert MUAH Studio in the heart of Somerset Village.

I’m honored to say that some of the amazing students I taught are now part of our talented team, and together, we’re creating something extraordinary. I’m not just a business owner; I’m a mentor, and every day, I’m pouring everything I know into my team, ensuring they have the tools and knowledge to succeed. The passion and dedication I see in them fills me with hope for the future of the beauty industry, knowing that these rising stars are ready to take it to new heights.

Thank you so much for taking a moment to get to know me and my story. I can’t wait for you to meet our team—each of them is as passionate about making you feel your best as I am. Welcome to Desert MUAH Studio. We’re just getting started!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Being New to the area. Establishing myself within the community

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a Cosmetologist, Barber and an Instructor. For 19 years I have learned so many crafts from applying makeup doing updos to fades and shaves. It has truly been an honor to continue my passion and the growth of my career. Some say jack of all trades, master of none. I love it all.

What’s next?
I am building a Bridal team and we are looking forward to seeing all the beautiful weddings we will have.
