Today we’d like to introduce you to William Valle.
Thanks for sharing your story with us William. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I originally began making beats about 12 years ago as a hobby when I was 13. Then I met a close friend of mine in High School, his name was Jahmed and we started working on music together. After high school, we ended up making a small project called Barabas and we put it out on SoundCloud and passed out CDs to local friends. After we had finished the project, Jah and I got disconnected since he ended up moving to Texas while I got a full-time job working at a local Toyota dealership. With him being out of state, I ended up not really making music and with my job taking so much out of my day, I slowly went away from it and this turned out to be the case for almost five years until 2020. We still stayed in touch a little throughout the time he stayed out in Texas until he moved back.
Throughout those years, he began to work on new music with Bregma and the homies. I got to meet and hang out with them through several occasions and really get to know them. Over time I became very inspired by what they were doing and accomplishing to the point where it was all I could think about was making music. Then at the beginning of this year, I decided I wanted to quit my job and pursue making music. I took time off mid January until March to stay at home with my newborn son. During this time, I started making beats everyday and just relearning the craft until it was time for me to return back to work. 2 weeks after returning back to work in March and covid beginning, I ended up quitting my job. I ended up sacrificing my home and sucking up my pride and moving back in with my in laws to be able to do music full time. I am honestly extremely grateful for them and my son’s mom for just understanding and allowing me to pursue my dream. If it wasn’t for them being so supportive, I wouldn’t be pursuing this.
Since quitting my job, I began uploading music on my Instagram and youtube to gain exposure. I ended up getting in touch with some awesome up and coming talent locally and out of state. Most notably an artist Lester Sanchez. His team really fucked with my sound to the point where I was invited out to Florida for a weekend back in July. To be flown out because of my music was the most humbling and self inspiring moments of my life. Fast forward to today and we have a single already out called 91 and by the time this interview is out, we should have our second single out called Laps. All this in preparation for our collaborative project that I have executive produced that will be dropping this December. I also produced the intro song to the Elevated Podcast called Elevated with Pressure Dommer that we will hopefully be releasing soon as a single. I also can’t forget about the other Artist I’m working with like ZootedThird, Torel, Odatruh, Quincey Jamal, Just Rob, Aprils Mood, and Pressure Dommer.
Has it been a smooth road?
At the moment I can’t say it has really been a bad trip. I have been enjoying it very much. Yeah, there are some bumps in the road when I get self-doubt or lack of inspiration but those are temporary. The only real struggle in my situation to me would be at the begging of my journey. Just the feeling of humiliation and self-doubt, to be at a point where I was somewhat accomplished 24 years old with a very well paying job, my own home, the blessing and freedom to do as a please without a worry and then on top of all that being a new dad. To then deciding to give it all up to start a new career path and start fresh again without knowing if everything will turn out ok. It definitely took a toll on me mentally for a few months.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the TheBroWill story. Tell us more about the business.
My business is making beats. I am just at the beginning stages and really just learning the ropes of the industry as a whole. At the moment, what I am really proud of is myself and the sacrifices I made to get to the small milestone that I’m at now knowing that if I keep going things will only get better from here. For me, what sets me apart is my commitment to the artist I work with. Every artist I work with, I always let them know I there for them for ANYTHING they need. I want to be as hands-on as I can all the way down to when it comes to the releases of the songs we are going to put out. It is just as much their art/creation as it is mine and I take that very seriously. I don’t just try to limit myself as a “beat maker”. I want to be that guy who is also looked on for what to do with the song and its creation as a whole with whomever I am working with.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
Shoot in the next five years, I hope to be well known with Artists I am coming with, with a unique sound. To have a team/squad like OVO Sound, Dreamville, Young Money, TDE, Jack Boys, etc. Also, to have music with some of the biggest artists in the world. I want to send the trend of dabbing into two genres and killing it having the biggest hit on both sides of rap/hip hop and reggeaton.
