Meet Will Collette

Today we’d like to introduce you to Will Collette.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Will. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Have you ever been so obsessed with something that it’s all you think about? Your phone background, your conversations, the music you listen to, your dreams at night are all centered around that same thing? Ever since I was a kid in North Carolina, that’s how I felt about the idea of living in Los Angeles. I had never been, but I knew it was where I wanted to chase all my dreams of owning a supercar and filming videos. I joined the Air Force right out of college and was an officer in space command for two years. During that time, I drove eight hour round trips every weekend from Lompoc, CA to Los Angeles to shoot cars and EDM shows. My YouTube channel grew enough that the Air Force found it and decided to re-assign me to Utah with the combat camera unit. I was the flight commander for the content creation team for the entire Air Force. During that time, The Stradman convinced me to take a chance on being a YouTuber. I left the Air Force in 2018 and finally moved to Hollywood. Over the last two years, I’ve been chasing the dream of becoming a full-time YouTuber and owning a Lamborghini.

Has it been a smooth road?
Absolutely not. I nearly didn’t get accepted into college. I got a phone call from UNC on Friday the 13th letting me know I had barely made the cut for last-second admission – only two hours before my Air Force scholarship expired. While I was active duty military, I was assigned to a base in the middle of nowhere. The lack of excitement and opportunity motivated me to publish my first book, “The Art Of Unpredictability”. When I finally moved to LA, the wheel fell off my car and nearly killed me in an accident that totaled my car while I was in between jobs. Only three months living in LA, I was down to my last $300. The next job I took promised me the world but left me desperate to get to a new job with a less toxic work environment. The second company I worked for ran into some marketing struggles which has kept me on minimum wage for the last year. Struggling to make ends meet and survive off my own income with no one else’s help, I’ve still managed to drive more miles in supercars than I can count, work with nearly every influencer I’ve ever wanted to meet, and document some of the craziest experiences all on my YouTube channel. I’ve done videos with The Chainsmokers, Gary Vaynerchuk, Hannah Ann Sluss, and many others. Life is never limited by how much money you make. Mostly just how much you push yourself.

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I’m known for my involvement in cars for sure. My connections to dealerships, rental agencies, influencers, and private owners is extensive. But beyond cars, I like to think that I’m known as an example of someone who is risking it all to chase a dream. Everyone out there has a dream of what they’d LOVE to do in life, but only a few push beyond what they think they’re SUPPOSED to do in life. I’m very motivated by death, it’s the only certainty in life. So why not fill life with as much uncertainty as possible? Take all the risks. That’s what I’m about.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
I will live forever in LA. There’s no better place to chase a dream. I am so in love with every part of this city, I can’t imagine even taking a vacation somewhere else. There’s a reason why I haven’t booked a plane ticket in a long time. Everything that excites me is happening right in my backyard. I went for a run one day and there was a Bugatti in my neighborhood. Are you kidding me? Friends and family back home love to make fun of the higher than usual living expenses I manage while working in Hollywood. But I’ve run into my favorite YouTubers at Target. I’ve hit the treadmill at the gym next to cast members of Entourage. And I’ve surfed in Venice next to supermodels I follow on Instagram. You say “cost of living”, I say “admission price to the best city on God’s green Earth”.
