Meet Will C of Blasto Street Wear in San Fernando valley

Today we’d like to introduce you to Will C.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I was born in East Los Angeles, CA and growing up was not easy with a household of seven brothers and father in and out of our life due to being in prison. It was tough with only my mom doing her best to get us through. Growing up in poverty, life wasn’t easy. Throughout those years, I lost two brothers days away from each other leaving us with grief and pain throughout the years. It led to almost giving up my self, almost losing my life being shot on the streets. I was tired of the negative lifestyle I made a drastic change to a positive mindset. I was always fascinated by designs on t-shirts and went for it myself. I started my streetwear line Blasto Street Wear .and started selling to close friends and family, and then moved on to set up at local bar, car shows, and now major events. With the support of famous rap artist professional athletes and actors, Blasto is for sure on the way to be Los Angeles hottest trend, on the move from San Diego to Oakland. Making sure everyone is joining the movement. From being heard on 92.3 The Real station, to promoting my brand on billboards and in multiple magazines. With everyone’s support, I can bring the brand to the very top.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
No, it has not been a smooth road. I have had alot of restless nights out at many different locations setting up my merchandise 3 to 4 times a week till about midnight hoping I would sell a few pieces. There were nights I wanted to give up but I didnt because I knew it was part of the struggle & sacrifices I had to make to take this to the next level.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
I am the owner of Blasto Street Wear a clothing brand out of the San Fernando Valley. We specialize in t-shirts, hoodies and hats. I am known for being LA’s favorite grinder popping up at all kinds events to promote my brand. My accomplishments make me proud like being heard on the radio, being advertised on a billboard and seeing established names in the industry wear my clothing brand. What sets me from others is that I am actually out there pushing my brand from city to city at many pop-ups.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was a kid with a big imagination who wanted a big fancy car and big mansions one day which I was living in the totally opposite lifestyle. I was a real quiet kid and always looked for a way to make a few dollars like selling Bart Simpson drawings. As I got older, I was into boxing from 16 to 21 and wanted to turn pro but was shot my first time causing me to stop the sport I really enjoyed. Eventually, my creative side urged me to pursue my business in fashion and there Blasto Street Wear was born.
