Meet Wid Yaareb of Eclectic Phase

Today we’d like to introduce you to Wid Yaareb

Hi Wid, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
From across the seven seas, I moved from Dubai to pursue a career in film and media production, with a strong passion for cinematography. As the industry evolved, I felt drawn to the creative and business side of advertising, which led me to further my education with a master’s degree in social media management. I wanted to gain the skills to design impactful, creative campaigns that resonate with specific types of brands and audience.

Watching fashion boutique and perfume ads inspired me early on—I loved the mix of cinematic storytelling and artistry. I realized I could bring my technical cinematography skills and creative vision together to build something meaningful. That’s how Eclectic Phase was born two years ago, fulfilling my dream of owning a creative agency focused on more than just digital content. My goal is to create work that’s not only visually beautiful but also captivates people’s attention. Cinematic storytelling remains at the heart of everything I do because, above all, I’m a cinematographer.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road—like most creative journeys, it’s been filled with challenges. Moving across the world meant starting from scratch in a new industry landscape, which required a lot of adaptation and resilience. Early on, one of the biggest struggles was finding my unique place in a competitive market and balancing my technical skills in cinematography with the strategic demands of running a business especially in comparison to where I come from.

Another challenge was navigating the rapid shifts in digital trends. Staying up-to-date with constant changes in social media, evolving advertising methods, and advancements in technology required me to keep learning and adapting. Building Eclectic Phase took patience and grit, especially as we faced the unique hurdles of running a creative agency in an era increasingly shaped by artificial intelligence!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
My creative agency, Eclectic Phase, was founded with the idea of being a ‘Creative Stage’—a space where diverse styles come together to bring projects to life through expert execution and production. We specialize in a range of content production, from large-scale studio projects to smaller productions, as well as brand development, social media management, and, most recently, 3D design and animation, which has quickly become one of my favorite areas.

While we’re known for our full spectrum of services, 3D animation has become a standout skill at Eclectic Phase, setting us apart from many ‘modern-day’ agencies. Our focus is equally spread across all the services we offer, but 3D animation is an area we’re particularly passionate about expanding. Working with great companies has inspired us to take our 3D work to a more professional level, pushing boundaries and honing our expertise in this field.

Also, on a side note—we’re proudly female-led!

Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
The COVID-19 crisis taught me several important lessons, both personally and professionally. One of the most significant was the importance of adaptability and flexibility. The pandemic forced the world to pivot, and businesses, including mine, had to quickly adjust to new ways of working. For us, that meant embracing digital tools even more and adapting our production processes to be remote-friendly

The crisis also gave me the space to start projects and initiatives I had been putting off, like expanding into 3D design and animation. While it was a great opportunity to dive into these new areas, deep down, I realized I should have started them long ago. The pandemic showed me the value of not waiting for the “perfect moment” and just going after what truly excites me.
