Today we’d like to introduce you to Veronique Assouline.
Veronique, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
My childhood was spent in Casablanca, where my parents and their friends hosted an endless stream of opulent parties that filled their home with the sumptuous tastes, regal style and vibrant music of Northern Africa. At the age of 15, I moved to Paris, studying art history at Le Musée du Louvre and earned my law degree from La Sorbonne. However, while living there my Parisian flat became a favorite gathering spot for a crowd of upcoming young stars in fashion and design. I would entertain them with chic, and creative parties. Soon after I was invited to join an elite Parisian design firm, and – voilà! — My career as an international event planner began.
In 2002, I brought her expertise to Beverly Hills and launched Véronique Events.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
When I initially moved to the states language was a barrier I had to cross, as English is not my first language. In addition, being that I was not born here with established connections I worked twice as hard to prove myself. However, I quickly established my credibility in the industry through my personality, design and work ethic. I also thank the Angeleno French community as they also helped me establish a quick reputation and gain clients all over the city.
Veronique Events – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
My business focuses on celebrating life’s special moments varying from Weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, bar/bat mitzvah and also corporate events etc. The planning of a celebration can create a lot of stress and questions for a person that is why at Veronique Events we are known for establishing close bonds with our clients which allows us to truly listen and understand their needs, allowing them to be at a state of peace. We are also known for our design style which is clean, timeless, and elegant.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
With each event I have my proudest moment and when I see my clients so happy it makes me even prouder.
