Today we’d like to introduce you to Veronica Centasso Pranzo.
Veronica Centasso was born and raised in Venice – Italy-and commenced her career in the hospitality industry. Centasso moved to the beautiful island of St Martin in the Caribbean in 1995, where she founded ‘V Stylish Events’. She went on to study Event and Wedding Design at Preston Bailey and shortly after produced events for different associations and corporations including the B.E.T. (Black Entertainment Television).
Veronica relocated to Los Angeles with her family in 2012, where she founded Veronica Pranzo’s Events and published her first book in the following year, ‘How to Plan and design a Celebration of a Lifetime’. In the same year, She was asked to do an event for 150 female United Nations delegates in New York by Shalini Vahdera who was presenting the concept of Power Beauty Living to the UN. Veronica hosted her own weekly radio show, which was podcast on Rock Star World Wide, ‘How to plan and design a Celebration of a Lifetime’. She offered tips and advice with her talk show’s guests on how to plan and host amazing events.
In 2015, Centasso decided to focus on Los Angeles Exclusive Weddings. She later founded
www.ExclusiveWedMoons.com after being certified as a wedding and honeymoon specialist, which promotes weddings and romance traveling to the Tropics, that she considers as her second home. The global events and wedding planner’s most recent venture is now Venice Exclusive Weddings. “Launching a luxury destination wedding venture while we are still fighting a global pandemic might seem like a bold move and… it is. However, I would have not had the adventurous life that I have experienced if I were not willing to take some risks”, Veronica stated.
Since planning a destination wedding can take anywhere from 12 to 18 months, Centasso is of the opinion that the timing is actually ideal since one can assume that people will be keen to travel once the situation is more under control, following several months of lock-down. “Next year will signify a very important date for my city Venice since it will be the city’s 1600 the birthday and so I am confident that I am placing a good bet”, Centasso concluded.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
From outside, everything might look like glamour and easy life …It is not like that at all! The challenges are at any corners. As an immigrant, you feel in need to continuously demonstrate you are worthy of the hospitality of the country you are in. Not only the economic investment and the frustration of the never-ending paperwork requirements but the desire to belong, to understand and serve a community that is culturally a bit different from your own and that presents a system that is totally different from the one you are born into. There is a constant learning curve that is both personal and professional.
I am perfectly aware that I made quite bold decisions. I left Italy to go live in the Caribbean and I left the Caribbean to move to Los Angeles. I went from one end to the opposite of a very large spectrum of lifestyle. Every time I had to adjust, learn and be patient with my self. What looks like an overnight success story, in reality, takes years of trial, errors, and tears. Lots of persistence and hard work.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
My company fully represents me. I create it with the idea and the conscious awareness that life is precious and way too short for “average”. Milestones need to be celebrated. We need to take time from the rat race and everyday life and celebrate our accomplishments and the important people in our life.
We stand out because me and my team take the time to understand the client and their unique goals, vision, and desire. Almost everybody can have a nice centerpiece at the center of the table and have filet mignon catered. I have a different perspective. I am looking to create a meaningful experience for our clients. We encourage our clients to find those elements that are important to them, can be a song, a color, their heritage a life event, a cause, a piece of art… and together we create layers of meaningful details to give them a special day that will be memorable and unique. It really doesn’t matter the scale of the event. It can just be a couple asking for a quick elopement and in that case, we will make sure the officiant takes the time to find out about the couple he/she is about to marry and deliver a ceremony that is personalized and heartfelt.
In a capitalist society, the trend is to pile clients with the goal of a certain end of year revenue. As a businesswoman, I do not deny I need to keep an eye on my books however my focus is to work with fewer clients that desire that one on one attention to their overall experience.
What were you like growing up?
Growing up, did I know this will be my life? LOL …NO!!! I was a proud but shy Venitian who never wanted to leave mom and dad and little brother, I wanted to be a ballerina, I never understood the reason to study a foreign language(who needs it?) and I did not want a driver license. Today I speak four languages, I have a French and Californian Drive license, (never had the Italian tho) I am not a ballerina even if I love ballet and I miss mom, dad and brother and the entire big Italian family very much since I do not see them as often as I want to but I am very grateful for all the technology that makes us feel less far – I talk to them every other day anyway.
