Today we’d like to introduce you to Vanessa Rosete
Hi Vanessa, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Growing up, I’ve always loved dog’s. I could never have my own so I decided why not borrow everyone else’s! I quickly became the neighborhood petsitter at 7 years old in sunny Santa Monica. My neighbors were happy to know that I loved their animals as if they were my own. After graduating high school I initially thought I’d be a Veterinarian. After working for a couple of months; I could not separate my emotions from the reality. I have so much respect for those in that field. Shortly, I moved on and started managing a daycare in the Marina where everything started. I made great connections and learned so much about wellness and health over the years, I wanted more but didn’t know where to begin. The day after my brother’s wedding my aunt found a dog and I thought I could train him myself. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case. I started researching trainers and came across Mark with Rosewoodk9. We became friends and shortly fell in love. After so many years of working at the shop and getting hit by a pandemic. He encouraged me to start my own business and it shortly took off.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Fortunately, I had a lot of support with clients that had already supported me throughout the years. So I had a smooth transition. I’m grateful for all of them !
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I specialize in structured boarding and daycare. All of my dogs are handpicked and have completed evaluation & basic obedience training. If not, I introduce them to some basics and evaluate from there. I’m known for helping raise puppies into adulthood. Most of the dogs in my program have been raised together. I work with families and high end clients.
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I would say it’s God’s Blessing. I found the love of my life and we work together, we have so much passion for the dog industry and have found our extended family by doing so.
