Meet Steven Valencia of Valencia IT

Today we’d like to introduce you to Steven Valencia.

Hi Steven, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’ve always been a computer nerd at heart. Long before it became a business, technology was just what I naturally gravitated toward. It really clicked for me in high school when I took a computer class and started connecting the dots between what I was learning and the hands-on experience I already had working with digital music and audio production. I wasn’t just using computers, I wanted to understand how everything worked beneath the surface.

Working with audio software and recording my friends’ music is where I really learned how to troubleshoot. There were always little issues. Inputs not recording, drivers acting up, software crashing at the worst time. When something didn’t work, there wasn’t anyone else to call. I had to figure it out. That process of testing things, isolating the problem, and getting everything running smoothly taught me a lot early on. I started to enjoy solving the problem just as much as creating the music. That mindset never really left.

In 2022, I made the decision to stop looking at technology as just an interest and turn it into my career. I committed to learning as much as I could and putting my skills to work helping real people with real problems. That’s what led me to start Valencia IT.

Today, the business is built on that same curiosity and hands-on mindset. I focus on practical, honest computer repair and IT support, helping people understand their technology instead of just handing it back to them fixed. It’s been a steady progression from passion to profession, and I’m grateful to be doing what I genuinely enjoy.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No road worth taking is completely smooth. There have definitely been challenges and moments where things didn’t go as planned. That’s part of working in technology.

This field never stands still. Technology evolves fast, and if you get comfortable, you fall behind. I’ve had to stay sharp and keep learning. I always see myself as a student, no matter how much experience I gain.

Every challenge has pushed me to improve, whether that meant learning new systems, adapting to new tools, or finding better ways to serve my clients. The struggles didn’t slow me down. They shaped how I work and why I take consistency seriously.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Valencia IT is a local, hands-on computer repair and IT support business focused on real solutions, not upsells or confusion. I work with individuals and small businesses on everything from repairs and upgrades to system cleanup, security, and general tech support.

What sets me apart is that I take the time to explain what’s going on. A lot of people feel intimidated by technology or have had experiences where they were talked over or sold things they didn’t need. I don’t operate that way. I believe people should understand their own technology and feel confident using it.

I focus on practical, reliable fixes and honest advice. If something isn’t worth repairing, I’ll say so. If there’s a simpler or more affordable option, I’ll recommend it. What I’m most proud of is building trust. I want Valencia IT to be known for straight answers, solid work, and doing the job right.

What matters most to you? Why?
What matters most to me is trust and integrity. People rely on their computers for work, school, and personal life, and when something breaks, it’s stressful. I take that seriously. I want clients to know they’re getting honest recommendations, fair pricing, and work done properly. That’s what builds real relationships instead of one-time transactions.
