Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephen Przybylowski and Michael Miller.
Stephen and Michael, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Both Michael and I are avid vinyl collectors who started in our early teens and continued on as adults. As time passed and technology changed from analog to digital we continued to maintain a passion for vinyl. As a music lover and musician, it is amazing to be able to take thousands of songs anywhere on your iPod or phone. Digitally you lose a tangible connection to the overall art and essence of the artist’s intention that is displayed through both the cover art and music.
There is an indescribable feeling you get when you happen to find a rare record at the bottom of a dusty thrift store shelf that time has forgotten or something that is unavailable on iTunes or YouTube. Michael and I met about five years ago and starting sharing stories about what records we found thrifting. It was this thrill of the hunt that brought us together to create what would become White Label Vinyl.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The biggest challenge was just starting a business. There is a wide range of emotions you go through on a daily basis. Some days are successful and other days you just don’t know how you will make it through the next month. We feed off the positive response we receive from our customers and that really makes it worthwhile. There is no shortage of record stores in Los Angeles so making sure our boxes are fully stocked with a wide range of music choices and quality inventory is definitely something not for the weary. This isn’t a glamorous endeavor; sometimes finding the best collection of records means digging through decades of dust in a backyard shed.
We’ve made a few mistakes along the way but our biggest challenge right now is finding good records. We’re both really knowledgeable about many different styles of music so we tend to know what to look for items we like, what will sell and what’s cool.
Please tell us about White Label Vinyl.

We focus on providing customers with a quality product. We understand the importance of sound quality and make sure our records are properly cleaned and come with new sleeves on both the inside and outside. We love to help people expand their musical horizons.
Currently, you can find us at any of the major markets in LA such as Smorgasbord LA, Beat Swap Meet, Silverlake Flea and Rock & Roll Flea at the Regent Theater to name a few. However, we are quickly outgrowing our current storage space (my garage) and are now looking to expand into a more permanent brick and mortar location, so, stay tuned.
