Today we’d like to introduce you to Shandra Crymes.
Shandra, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I was a makeup artist for over 20 years in the Orange County and Los Ángeles area, when I became aware that the most rewarding part of my job was watching my clients become happier and more confident people. During many of my makeup sessions, my clients would open up and ask for advice that I’d happily give. I loved watching them utilize the information that I’d give them and see the transformation in my clients’ lives.
As time passed I would meet with clients just to talk and help them through life situations ranging from relationships to grief. I would leave every meeting feeling that I had found my purpose. I knew that this is what I wanted to do for as many people as possible. This led me to open ELEVATE NOW and write the book DANCE WITH YOUR BEST FOOT FORWARD to help people get over heartbreak.
At Elevate Now, I teach people how to have a balanced, happy and purposeful life. I use my own life experiences, such as divorce to the death of my 19-year-old son to help others overcome life situations.
No one is immune to disappointments but it’s how you react to that matters the most.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I haven’t experienced any major challenges with being a life coach and a makeup artist. Being a life coach and a makeup artist wasn’t challenging at all. I I’m very passionate about both and I’ve been very blessed thus far. I truly believe my purpose is to help people feel good about themselves. I’ve been blessed to have the capability to help people feel great about their outward appearance as well as feeling a great balance in their lives .
The only challenge that I encountered was from a handful of friends advising me that I should only pick one career.
I knew it wasn’t because they were against me. Quite the contrary. I was in full understanding that they were trying to protect me. They were trying to protect me from being hurt if I failed or didn’t teach the goals that I set for myself . Some even mentioned the saying “ jack of all trades, master of none”. I just happen to somewhat disagree. I do believe that you should master a skill, However, I also believe that once you’ve mastered that skill, it is completely acceptable to use your passion to master other talents, especially if they correlate.
If you’re passionate about something, do it! I can honestly say every day that I work, it’s a pure joy. It never feels like work! If I had listened to other people’s opinions, I would have chosen a different path and wouldn’t be as happy as I am today If you put your all into your passion, you’ll never be disappointed!

Elevate Now is more than a life coaching business, it’s a life transformation center. I’m a bit different from most life coaches. There are four intuitive senses that one can have. I was born the gift of clairsentience. This is the gift of “ feeling”. So although I do use some traditional techniques that many coaches use, I use gift of clairsentience as a life coach and a manifestation guide to help others.
I can sense where someone may be out of vibrational alignment, and teach them the skills to notice their blocks and remove them to manifest the life that they want.
I do meet in the office or via Skype if necessary but I prefer to have sessions near bodies of water. I feel water is a powerful energy and healing conductor. So my typical session consists of a meeting at a local beach, lake or even by the pool at my client’s home.
My goal is always to get my client to a point where they no longer need my coaching and can apply the skills that I teach them on their own.
I’ve done this for clients time and time again. I often get email updates from previous clients and the transformation in their lives are remarkable! This gives me so much joy!
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
If I had to start over, I would have integrated my technique with traditional coaching techniques earlier. I should have not doubted my vision of how I wanted to help people, but I wasn’t quite sure how open my clients would be or how well manifesting skills would be received.
Luckily, people are educated about the law of attraction, manifesting and open to change in their lives. The opportunity lies in the fact that most people don’t know how to do this effectively. So I’m blessed to be able to show them.
