Today we’d like to introduce you to Sasha Anne.
Hi Sasha, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
When I was 13, I started a YouTube channel doing basic makeup tutorials. I became a professional makeup artist and my friends and family asked me to do their makeup and then I got some bookings. I was inspired by YouTuber Jaclyn Hill and Kandee Johnson. I still am. I then wanted to make videos on makeup and transformations. In 2017, I was a finalist in the Shorty Awards for best in beauty. I did a modern-day Cinderella makeup look. Then in 2018, I won the audience honor award in best in beauty for my Wonder Woman makeup transformation. My campaign was called Empowering Young Women and that really stood out. Now I’m a professional, certified makeup artist. Then I knew I wanted to pursue acting as a career right after I graduated FIT in the middle of the worst part of the covid pandemic. Jobs in the makeup industry were non-existent. I couldn’t even get an internship. Nothing was happening. My manager, Sandy Lo, knew my movie producer, Suzanne DeLaurentiis and told her that I wanted to act and that I sing too. So Suzanne came up with this amazing character for me as my debut film!
I always loved to perform. Since I’m two. Dancing, singing, acting, anything in front of a camera. I grabbed the opportunity. And I am living my dream. Suzanne saw my talent and I continued to work with her company as an actress. I moved to LA from NYC end of February 2022 to pursue my career. I did a cameo in new TV series On All Fours with Eric Roberts. I also filmed my first music video for her debut single, “Catch Me I’m Falling”, which is a remake of the ’80s hit by Pretty Poison on all streaming platforms. I’m now with Tazmania records. I also has a new YouTube talk show series called “The Vibe with Sasha Anne” where I talk about the hottest trends in fashion, beauty and entertainment each week. I signed with Element Talent Agency for commercials, Central Artists Agency theatrically and Key Elements Pr for Pr. I will eventually be releasing her originals too but first I will be releasing my second single “This is Your Night” coming out September 16th.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been a smooth road. There were many bumps in the road. Too many but not terrible. Just silly mistakes. I’m still young, making mistakes. I’m still learning every day. I have amazing people by my side helping me when I mess up. If I didn’t make any mistakes along the way, I’d be a little concerned. Making mistakes and having struggles along the way is how we learn.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a singer, actress, influencer and makeup artist. I’m most proud of getting my movie out on the film circuit which has been doing amazing and I’m proud that my song “Catch Me I’m Falling” went number 1 on the Indie pop charts this year. I think what sets me apart from others is that I have a strong intuition and good instincts. I can tell when something is right or wrong very quickly. I think I have very deep thoughts that a lot of people can relate to. Once they hear my original music in the future, they will see what I mean. I think my style sets me apart from others. I have a very unique style. Princess with an edge. I’m very into fashion as well and with each of my original songs, I can put an outfit together for each one. Each song has a personality.
How do you define success?
By not giving up. Learning every day, making mistakes but having fun along the way. My goal is just to have fun doing it all but learning at the same time and making people smile at the end of it all. When I make someone’s day, then I remember that’s why I’m here and doing what I love.
