Meet Sandra Milosevic and Elise Kruger of Club Rewire

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sandra Milosevic and Elise Kruger.

Sandra and Elise Milosevic

Hi Sandra and Elise, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
We launched Club Rewire 2 years ago with the mission of making mental health education more accessible and connected. “Think Psychology class, but more fun” is the mission we anchor all of our company decisions to. We were featured in a few outlets (including Bucketlisters, Camber, and Nudge) after partnering with local businesses that wanted to increase their community presence and make their spaces ones where guests could come to make friends, drink (or not!) and get access to science-backed education to change their lives. These features helped spread the word about Club Rewire (and we’re so thankful for that!) Since then, we’ve hosted company-sponsored events for Brooklinen, LoveShack Fancy, Truly LA, Penmar & more! We’ve also hosted community events for WeWork and many private corporate events, including a recurring series for Tishman Speyer.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not always been a smooth road, but there have been enough “magic” moments, as we call them, to make us believe that we’re on the right mission.

Some of the struggles along the way have been small mishaps with venue spaces (once we saw an entire set of curtains fall as we were adjusting them), not having enough space when we received more guests than anticipated in our earlier days, getting nervous before public speaking when we were first starting out, and minor activity mishaps (our first resin coaster event was much more complicated than we anticipated)

We’re also always struggling as new business owners to understand our value and place in the market. This includes how much to price tickets and ask for from business sponsorships, how much to accommodate private requests that might not fit perfectly with our mission, and, of course, how much we do for the good of the business to grow, even if it’s not financially the most profitable for our bank accounts.

We’re definitely still learning and growing as we go along!

Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about Club Rewire?
Club Rewire hosts mental health pop-ups across LA with the mission of making mental health education more accessible, cool, and connected.

Last year, when the Surgeon General accounted an epidemic of loneliness in the US, we doubled down on that goal and incorporated happy hours and activities into our events with the goal of community building to improve mental and physical health.

All of our events feature licensed therapists and neuroscientists who share information across a wide range of topics, including anxiety and depression, habit change, neuroplasticity, relationships, flow state, how different chemicals work in our brains (dopamine, serotonin, and oxytocin), and many more!

We are known for incorporating these topics in fun ways and in unique spaces & often including happy hour drinks + activities like journaling, graffiti art, flower arranging, & more).

What sets us apart from others is our commitment to the in-person component of Club Rewire. We also offer resources across our social media platforms and in our newsletters, but we encourage in-person connection and believe that community building is important for mental and physical health.

Brand-wise, we’re most proud of our candid approach to our content. We share reels of photos of what our speakers share in raw, vulnerable clips and as founders, we always share our stories and ask questions to encourage and engage our community to do so as well.

We want your readers to know that there are many ways to engage with us – you can learn about our content across social media, make new friends at our events, and meet many therapists through Q&As. Most importantly, we want your readers to know that a community to build a better life while making new friends and having fun exists – Club Rewire!
