Meet Sabrina Nuno of Los Angeles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sabrina Nuno

Hi Sabrina, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’m a content creator based in LA, originally from the San Fernando Valley! Ever since I was young, I’ve been drawn to content creation—whether it was filming mini skits with my siblings or making short films for school projects. These early experiences sparked my interest in connecting with an audience through visual storytelling.

This passion led me to pursue a communication degree at UCLA, where I sought out courses in videography, graphic design, and social media. Throughout my education, I became fascinated by the power of messaging and how content can resonate with viewers. My studies taught me not just technical skills, but also how to craft narratives that engage people. After graduating, I continued developing my social media skills by taking up jobs related to social media management and marketing. Through my job experiences I was helping others tell their stories, and always felt hesitant to share my own voice and perspective.

That all changed at the start of 2024 when I finally made the decision to commit to personal content creation. I pushed myself to post consistently on TikTok—allowing me to connect directly with viewers through short, engaging visual stories.

Since taking that leap, I’ve grown my TikTok to over 1,070 followers and 137.7K likes, creating content centered around matcha, aesthetic cafes, beauty, and life in LA. Living in Los Angeles provides endless inspiration for my content—there’s always something happening, whether it’s a pop-up event, an art installation, or a hidden gem waiting to be discovered. This vibrant environment fuels my popular “Things to Do in LA” content series. I spend my weekends exploring new spots, and when I find places I love, I’m passionate about sharing them so others can experience them too.

What’s been even more exciting are the opportunities that have emerged from my TikTok presence. I’ve collaborated with beauty brands, created UGC (user-generated content), and received invitations to exclusive events around the city. Looking ahead, I want to continue growing as a creator, focusing on content that keeps people engaged and leaves a lasting impact. I’m challenging myself to think bigger, refine my storytelling, and collaborate with brands that genuinely align with my vision. I also plan to incorporate more conversational videos to let my personality shine through and connect with my audience on a deeper level. This is just the beginning of my journey, and I’m excited to see where it takes me next.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Definitely not! One of the biggest struggles was overcoming my own self-doubt. Even though I had previous experience as a social media manager, I constantly questioned whether my personal content was good enough or if anyone would find value in what I was sharing. For years during college, I held myself back from creating—overthinking every aspect and worrying about how people would perceive my work. Breaking through that mental barrier and consistently posting content felt liberating, but it required me to actively push past years of hesitation.

On top of that, putting myself out there on the internet meant opening the door for more people to interact with me. And when I was already struggling with self-doubt, the idea of a broader audience also meant more people who could potentially judge me. But over time, I learned to reframe that fear. Instead of seeing my audience as a group of critics, I started viewing them as a community—people I could connect with, share meaningful content with, and find common ground with. I began asking myself: What if my content is well-received? What if I’m the one holding myself back? That shift in mindset changed everything. I realized I never want to be the person standing in my own way. And if something doesn’t go as planned, it’s not the end—I can always learn from it and try again with new insights I didn’t have before.

This is still something I’m working through, but I’ve made a conscious effort to keep challenging those doubts and improving along the way. I hope that anyone else who feels hesitant to create—whether it’s content or anything else they’re passionate about—can break free from those limiting beliefs too.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
At the core of my work is a passion for sharing my experiences in LA through visually engaging content. I specialize in creating aesthetically pleasing videos that showcase hidden gems around Los Angeles—particularly cafes with unique atmospheres—as well as beauty and lifestyle content.

My background in communication and marketing significantly influences my approach to content creation. Rather than focusing solely on what I want to express, I constantly consider the viewer’s experience: How can I frame this content to make them feel included? What editing techniques will maintain engagement? How can I structure this video to deliver the most value in a short timeframe? This viewer-centric approach sets my content apart—I’m not just documenting my experiences but crafting them into moments that feel personal to whoever is watching.

My content often features matcha spots, aesthetic cafes, and beauty routines, but what ties everything together is an attention to detail in how each piece is constructed. I’m meticulous about transitions, text placement, music selection, and pacing—elements that might seem minor but collectively create a more immersive viewing experience. Having studied communication theories and marketing trends, I understand how these subtle choices significantly impact audience engagement, especially in an era of decreasing attention spans.

We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
I think risk-taking is essential for growth—it’s often the difference between staying in your comfort zone and unlocking new opportunities. One of the biggest risks I’ve taken was putting myself out there as a content creator and stepping into the world of user-generated content (UGC).

At first, the idea of pitching myself to brands felt daunting. I wasn’t sure if they would take me seriously or if my content would be “good enough” to work with established companies. But I knew that if I wanted to turn content creation into something more than just a hobby, I had to take that leap. I started reaching out to brands, cold emailing companies I loved, and actively looking for collaboration opportunities—despite not knowing whether I’d get a response. It was nerve-wracking, but over time, I realized that the worst outcome was simply not hearing back, and that wasn’t nearly as bad as never trying at all.

Taking that risk paid off. I’ve had the opportunity to work with brands I genuinely admire, create content that aligns with their vision, and even get invited to exclusive events. More importantly, I learned that advocating for yourself and putting yourself out there is crucial in any creative industry. If I had let self-doubt hold me back, I wouldn’t have made the connections or gained the experience I have today.

This experience has reshaped how I think about risk—sometimes, it’s not about waiting for the “perfect” moment but about taking action and trusting that you’ll figure things out along the way.
