Meet Rose Study of Roses Say in Chino Hills

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rose Study.

Rose, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I am from Los Angeles, went to La Salle Elementary School, Horace Mann junior high, Morningside High School then to Cal State Los Angeles, and received my B.S in Business Education. When I young, I loved going to Exposition park and enjoying the Rose Garden. I knew someday I would get to play/work with Roses.

I’ve always been creative from making paper dolls, crocheting, sewing and making all sorts of crafts.

 I was in the lending/banking industry for 25 years, then when the market crashed in 2008 it was difficult to find work, I had several odd jobs just to make ends meet. I was tired of being laid off.  So, when my husband retired from law enforcement, it afforded me the opportunity to follow my passion with flowers.

Has it been a smooth road?
Any time you are climbing uphill it is not smooth, as a matter of fact it can be jagged.  Being self -employed is not for the meek, you definitely must have a passion for what you are doing.  It requires a lot of time, by far more than your 9-5 job. Initially I did not have a support team. I was responsible for everything. I had to master the printing on roses which took lots of trial and error, then master floral design which requires lots of continuing education, and now dealing with COVID 19.  We do have flowers however not the huge choice for now. I can’t wait for this to be over. When you love what you do, it is no longer a job.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Roses Say story. Tell us more about the business.
We named the business Roses Say because my name is Rose and our Roses say something.

Roses Say, is your one stop florist for everyday flowers, Weddings, Birthday, Events and All Life Celebrations. What sets us apart is:  We personalized /customized flowers just for you, by writing on Real Roses. You can have your name, logo, phrase, scripture, photo or your signature on a rose. We take the sentiments of a greeting card and merge it with the beauty of Fresh/ Real Roses, this brings the brightest smiles to the recipient. Our motto is “Make someone’s Day with Roses Say” and “Say it with a Rose”

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
I can see floral vending machines. I will eventually have one.
