Today we’d like to introduce you to Rosa Bella Jr.
Rosa Bella Jr, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
From the beginning, we both understood that our bond would bloom through our unique combinations of shared similarities. It was never solely about just making music, we both cherished the time we spent together and we loved learning from one another. We both shared sentiments, world views, ideas, struggles, cultural backgrounds and even similar emotional turmoils. We strongly feel that theses served as an honest foundation for what Rosa Bella Jr. would become.
As our friendship continued to grow, so did this project. Not ever really knowing how far we could go, we felt that we owed it to our truest selves to see it through all the way. In late 2018 we began writing simple songs, in 2019 we played various live shows, and in 2020 we focused all of our energy into recording our first full-length album, and so we did. So here we are now anxiously waiting for our next opportunity to play in front of people, to share our sound to new music lovers and forever grow as artists.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Nothing has ever been easy for us. We both grew up in the outskirts of LA and stem from crime-filled neighborhoods our whole lives. We both came from very hard-working immigrant families so we deeply cherish the resiliency that has been instilled in us from such an early age. We both learned that harvesting a strong work ethic becomes the pillar that sustains the driving force in accomplishing any goals not only pertaining to this project but in life.
In all the moments of self-doubt and tribulations that we faced throughout the years, whether it was struggling to find the right audio engineer to help us record our sound, losing band members along the way, or even releasing our first album in the middle of a worldwide pandemic, we learned to appreciate the adversity, because in the end, it’s all just a part of the ride that we’re on.
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
We have learned that above all, genuine human connection holds the utmost importance. In a world so divided, music will always be the promising vessel that allows us to connect, it allows us to share our pains and it allows us to share our joys.
