Today we’d like to introduce you to Rachel Demps.
Rachel started as a freelance makeup artist after graduating from Vancouver’s top makeup academy, Blanche Macdonald Centre in 2001. Initially she focused her talents on bridal makeup, and as a former beauty pageant winner she was afforded the opportunity to utilize her past title and talents to be the lead makeup artist for beauty pageants across Canada. She then relocated to Southern California and continued her career in television and film. Constantly pursuing her knowledge of the beauty industry and skin care along with desiring to stay on top of the current trends she decided to continue her education and became a licensed esthetician. Rachel continued to build her network with other prominent salons and quickly became a highly sought-after makeup artist and eyelash extensions technician. After years of establishing her name and brand she decided to open CLOUD Beauty Studio. Her passion is to personally make every woman feel their best by accentuating their natural beauty.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
In every journey you will encounter obstacles, I chose to look at these obstacles as opportunities to learn, grow and build character. Whether it was relocating to another country, establishing my brand, developing my techniques, finding the courage and resources to start my own business or effectively market in my local area, these are the struggles that anyone desiring to pursue their dream will encounter. I chose to allow these situations to build a strong foundation and be a platform for my accomplishments.
CLOUD Beauty Studio – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
CLOUD Beauty studio is an independent salon that offers eyelash extensions, lash lifts, microblading and beauty makeup. Our mission is to not only provide impeccable service but to also build personal relationships with every individual that walks through our doors. We place a high standard on our professionalism and we seek to establish lasting friendships.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
I define success as continually setting goals and achieving them. I believe success is not about a particular outcome but the process and journey it takes to achieve whatever your desire. I also believe that success cannot be attained alone but is the product of a strong and faithful network of individuals who will challenge and encourage each other.
