Meet Paige Lorentzen of The Paige Show in Hollywood

Today we’d like to introduce you to Paige Lorentzen.

Paige, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
How The Paige Show started… where do I begin?

Let’s start back in 2004. I was 9 years old and my dance teacher at the time choreographed for the TV show Gilmore Girls. She asked my mom if I was available to film for 2 days as one of Ms. Patty’s dance students on the show. When I set foot on the Warner Brothers Studio lot I fell in love with the world of entertainment. My mom always told me that if I wanted to pursue this as a career I could do it when I was 18 but my she didn’t want me to go down the stereotypical child actor path. This was the end of being on set until I went to college.

In college, my roommate was a photography major and would use me for photo projects. I started posting photos on Instagram and eventually, companies started to reach out to me to see if I would model for their clothing lines. As time went on modeling became my full-time job and as much as I loved it I felt like I wanted to do more.

Anyone that knows me knows I have a very outgoing, bubbly, and talkative personality. What better way to incorporate my passion for modeling/performing and being social than interviewing talent? As I started to ask people I knew in the industry I was finding no one really knew how to get into hosting or interviewing. It’s a very niche community where “you had to know someone” to have an in. I was tired of being told “you have to know someone” or that you had to be media trained to be able to interview people. This is when I came up with a concept that eventually became The Paige Show.

The internet is such a powerful tool and anything really is possible. I am 5’5 and never thought modeling was even in the cards for me but through social media I got opportunities I would never in a million years think I would get. Why not start a talk show for the internet meshing traditional talent with digital talent? As I started to talk about my idea with friends and videographers I received amazing feedback.

I have so many amazing people in my life that helped me navigate this industry and inspire me every day. I wanted to give them an opportunity to share their stories with the world to hopefully inspire someone else that’s an aspiring artist. We have a variety of talent on the show from Singers and Actors to Youtuber’s and Magicians. I really want this show to be relatable to everyone and hopefully, put a smile on viewers faces.

Is it scary to start a business venture at 23? Absolutely! Is it worth it? Of course! I know that even if the show doesn’t do well or doesn’t get picked up by a tv network someday; at least I gave it everything I had.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
If the road were smooth would it be worth it? I have experienced many challenges and still am. Life is unpredictable and it likes to throw curve balls but you problem solve and make due with what you have.

I have had shoot days where I’ve spent a lot of money on location, camera equipment, hair, makeup, food, etc. and my talent has canceled 30 minutes prior. I have had microphones stop working mid interview and we have had to reshoot. On one shoot day, focus was off on one of the angles so we couldn’t use that shot completely.

When you’re in the world of entertainment and working with technology every day some things are just bound to not go smoothly. Even the biggest talk shows on national television experience problems similar to the ones we’ve been through so the telling factor is how you problem solve and handle the situation.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about The Paige Show – what should we know?
The majority of talk shows you see on television stick to a particular type of guest. There are very few shows that will interview talent that grew their presence on social media. There are also few shows that will interview behind the scenes talent. I want The Paige Show to hit everyone’s interests when it comes to the world of entertainment.

We have had guests on that are traditional talent such as Actors, Singers, VoiceOver Actors, and so forth. We have also had Fitness Influencers, Vegan Youtuber’s, Comedian Youtuber’s, Beauty Bloggers, Magicians, and so forth. For future episodes, I would love to get a Radio Show Host, Photographer, Food Blogger and Videographer.

I graduated from college not too long ago and I wish I could have watched interviews on how some of the biggest talk show hosts got into it. It’s even exciting for me to hear how all of these individuals got started and the advice they have to viewers wanting to pursue their career path.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
The Paige Show is genuine and relatable. Nothing is scripted and guests aren’t prepped on questions I ask. It’s important to me that the show is real. This industry is so edited and shaped to make people seem a certain way as it is. The last thing I want is for this to turn into a gossip show just to get views. I would rather have no views at all and maintain the show’s integrity.

I wanted this show to be a place where guests could be themselves and viewers could get to know them for who they really are. I’m hoping viewers appreiciate this quality and it contributes to the success of the show.
