Hi Nasim, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My name is Nasim Askar, and I am the founder of Paint Events. My journey to owning a small business began in 2020 during the pandemic. During this time, I reconnected with my passion for painting, a hobby I had enjoyed since I was eight. The pandemic allowed me the time to delve back into art, which I found to be incredibly therapeutic. Recognizing the profound impact art had on my well-being, I decided to pursue certification in therapeutic art life coaching.

With this newfound purpose, I established Paint Events as a mobile paint and sip business. I travel to various locations to host events for different occasions such as birthday parties, get-togethers, bridal showers, after-school programs, senior living facilities, and corporate buildings. My primary focus is to help people unleash their creativity and find relaxation through art. Often, participants are initially hesitant, but it is incredibly rewarding to see their joy and satisfaction with their creations.

Currently, I can accommodate up to 100 participants per event, providing all painting supplies, instructions, and beautiful patterns suitable for all ages. Our youngest participant has been four years old, and our oldest was 94, who had never touched a brush before but created a stunning masterpiece.

As a woman-based and immigrant-founded small business, I am committed to fostering independence and expanding my business to bring the joy of creativity to even more people.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Reaching achievements is never easy. When we strive to grow, we must be prepared for challenges and obstacles along the way. These hurdles often come hand in hand with opportunities. If we believe in our unlimited potential and approach our work with love and confidence, we can overcome difficulties.

Like many others, I had to promote my business step-by-step from the beginning. It took time, and I had to work various part-time jobs to cover my costs initially. Now, my main focus is on my Paint Events business, and I also help others as a life coach, encouraging them to follow their dreams with hope and a solid plan.

Paint Events specializes in providing unique, art-focused activities for people and organizations. We cater to events where creativity and art are at the forefront, offering high-quality art supplies, beautiful patterns to paint, and expert instructors. Our dedication to enhancing user experience through continuous feedback sets us apart from others.

We recently started offering weekly paint and sip sessions in Woodland Hills and Santa Monica, allowing individuals to purchase tickets for an enjoyable and relaxing creative experience. These sessions require no prior art proficiency and are open to all ages and beginners.

One aspect that sets us apart is our ability to host monthly or annual events specifically designed for companies to foster team building, improve focus, and strengthen team bonds.

I am particularly proud of how our brand has grown and the joy we bring to our participants. I want readers to know that Paint Events is more than just a one-time event service; we offer ongoing opportunities for creativity and connection.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The most important lesson I’ve learned along my journey is to never give up on what truly comes from the heart. A smile on our faces, love in our hearts, and confidence in our eyes are essential ingredients to achieving our dreams.
