Meet Monika Votavova of LA Luxury Home Staging

Today we’d like to introduce you to Monika Votavova.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Monika. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
LA Luxury Home Staging is a sister company to a Remodeling and Design Management Inc., doing business for the past 15 years throughout the greater Los Angeles area.

Because of a growing demand for our remodeling services we made the decision to expand into Home Staging services so we can provide our valued customers with more choices and options.

And that’s where I decided to move forward and go back to school. I attend 2 years of classes for Interior Design & Home Staging. I immediately fell in love with all my design classes. I guess going back to my roots, being born and raised in the Czech Republic, then I realized that I have a great passion for a design, decorating and architecture overall.

While still enrolled in my classes, I already started to building a relationship with realtors who are my main source of business referrals by joining local advisory group and go for meetings to introduce myself to them and build relationships for future staging opportunities. In the meantime, I also worked on building the company’s website, researching the market and my best marketing options for staging business advertising.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Home staging is a very competitive market so continuous marketing is a must. I constantly work and research about new staging techniques, products and design ideas. Also, time management between business and personal live is a crucial as I do spend a great time around stores to purchase specific pieces of art, furniture and accessories for my staging projects.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about LA Luxury Home Staging – what should we know?
Our Home Staging services include those of any size or aspect, and usually begin by meeting with a client for a consultation to ascertain their exact needs and goals. I will leave the client with a list of useful tips and ideas as to how to de-clutter, de-personalize, and re-define their living space(s) so that their home will appeal to the widest possible range of potential buyers. If the client decides to use our full services I will meet with them again to create a plan which usually includes using the clients’ own furniture pieces as well as strategically placing a few WOW pieces of furniture or décor where appropriate.

We do specialize in staging a vacant properties for sale, which studies have shown to increase a sales price and/or decrease the DOM (days on market) of a home.

As a professional, I approach and focus on each and every property differently but in details as each house has its own character and personality. I work ins-inc with the realtor and the owner, personally going above and beyond to make sure each home is ready at its best for their first photo-shoot for MLS as well as Open House.
