Today we’d like to introduce you to Maria Banda.
Hi Maria, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’m a mama of five kids and been married for 19 years. I opened up my business in January 2021. Something I wanted to do for along time but was not able till now. Having a compromised son caring for him taking him to appointments and some hospital stays set me back. Thank God he is now cured after having a bone marrow transplant on August 2019. He is cured and the endless doctor’s appointments have subsided. He is healthy and thriving. I’ve always been crafty setting up my kid’s birthday table and there was something in me that creating wood pieces was a form of therapy after all I went through with my son. Each piece I make is made with love personalized or not I love creating pieces as if there were for me. Each piece has its meaning in many ways. I’ve always loved personalized items as gifts for my family. Creating them myself are so much meaningful in every way.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t been as smooth as I would love designing and caring for my kids have been a challenge. Now that there in school, I take the time to work as much and use my time wisely while there in school.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I offer wood design laser cutting and engraving. Can be customized and personalized. I’m proud of myself for getting the courage to open up my own business. After all, obstacles that got in the way. I’m able to customize every piece just like you envision it seeing my customer’s face after first look after finishing the piece is priceless to me. It’s what makes me love my job more than ever.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
My husband deserves all the credit for believing in me and supporting me from day one. Always motivated me and was always amazed of every piece I’ve made. I’ve also have family members that supported my business from the beginning of this journey as of now they still do. A simple share of my business page goes along away.
