Meet Marcus Swampy of Los Angeles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marcus Swampy.

Hi Marcus, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started writing music in 2018 but never made anything until 2021 but under a different name. i started making music with the sound im using right now in like 2023 under the name Swag Souljah but switched over to 3200soulja just last year (2025). i started making music cause of people like Luci4, Playboi carti, Homixide gang ect.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
My recording situation is really my main obstacle. As of now I don’t have a normal recording studio I be recording music in my moms car on bandlab using my iphones microphone as a mic cause my earbuds dont have a mic on them. besides that music easy for real

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I make music under the name 3200soulja
I’m known for my distinct sound and image
I’m proud of how far I came in such a short amount of time
I’m different in terms of my image and sound

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up I always wanted to be a rapper or a youtuber I used to write lyrics in 1st grade and freestyle over youtube background instrumentals. My mom used to always play Slipknot around the house which I ended up taking a liking too even now i still fw there stuff. I used to listen to lots of Ghostemane, Pouya, $uicideboy$ and stuff like that growing up which made me stand out from the others. My whole life I struggled with anxiety which is honestly the worst and most annoying part of my life cause it holds me back from doing stuff I always wanted to do especially when it comes to this music stuff like I couldn’t even record nothing with anyone in the house out of fear of they would think. I wouldn’t even show any of them my music or anything. I’m better on that now tho.
