Meet Marcos Gracia of Magic and Cocktails in Hollywood

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marcos Gracia.

Marcos, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started as a bartender ten years ago when I moved to Los Angeles, working for more than 15 different bartending services companies almost every day so I can pay my Lawyer to get my visas. As I was practicing every day I start to love what I was doing, I was feeling it and getting better every day. I always like magic since I was a kid, and because I was working a lot of hours behind the bars, I thought that doing some magic tricks it will be a good idea to get more tips and fun to the bar, so I start to practice MAGIC again, then I realized that people love magic too. almost all of them, and if you mix the magic with a cocktail, BOOM… The perfect mix, Guest has a lot of fun at the bar, and I’m the happiest guy in the world at that moment, the moments that I see the crazy reactions of people seeing something impossible for them to do. I start to create tricks, I spent hours and hours creating and practicing new impossible magic tricks that people love. Then I built Magic and Cocktails, a Magic bartending services only one in southern California.

I start to teach our bartenders how to do magic so we can make more parties every day, people love it… Now we are more than 20 people between Magic bartenders, bartenders and servers working all over LA for Magic and Cocktails. We starting to do parties for high end event planners and high end clients like Ricky Martin, Eddy Murphy, George Clooney.

In 2/11 we are going to do our first Magic and Cocktails showcase in our new partnership Michael from SUGAR BANK, to show our services to future clients, a few vendors are collaborating with us to make this event more Magical, like the artist Pamela G. Almeida, she will be there with her magnificent paintings, Steven Segar will take care of the food and Taylor Forney the music.

We are growing very fast and now we starting to create an event every 11th of the month for future clients and people who can be interested in our services, I did put together the first team vendors for 2/11 in Los Angeles (SUGAR BANK) with vendors for food, music, art and entertainment. So we can showcase one day a month for free what we do. The event will be free 2/11 at SUGAR BANK venue at 4 pm, I would be more than happy to invite you guys, I will make sure to send an invitation for you guys when I have them ready.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I’ve been lucky this year and I got very good feedback from clients who gave my contact to more clients, so It’s been a busy year, working 15h a day and investment every single dollar that we make to make it bigger. My goal for this year is to keep growing and making big Magic and cocktails and to create one of the biggest magical event on Los Angeles in 11/11/2020.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
As I said, I always like Magic, and my father was the ones who teach me the first magic tricks, so now it’s really fun to remember that something that I used to love as a kid and my father taught me is my passion and my work now. Always remember many magic tricks that my father did to me when I was a kid, 20 years ago, and it’s funny because I used them all nowadays and people still loving it.
