Meet Lyle Howry of Skinfly Entertainment in Beverly Hills

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lyle Howry.

Lyle, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I had a rough start in life. My mother gave me up when I was two years old and I bounced around different foster homes. When I was seven years old I went to live with my grandmother Agnes Cauthorn. I would not be the man I am today without her love and support. She instilled in me the drive and determination to follow my dreams. During that time, I met another mentor, my grandmother’s longtime friend David Miller, who also inspired me to do great things. Without these positive influences in my life, I am sure I would not be the success I am today. Life gives no guarantees. We have to use the resources we have, work hard, and keep moving forward.

Has it been a smooth road?
Life is never a smooth road, especially being a single father in the entertainment industry. I raised my two sons alone, struggling to find ways to support all of us while navigating the ins and outs of the entertainment business. Since I grew up without parents and had little guidance, being around for my boys was extremely important to me. Most people don’t realize just how hard it is to be a single parent. People tend to see the glamour of the entertainment world and don’t realize the hard work and sacrifices it takes to be a success. Being a parent to my sons by far has been my greatest achievement. I believe that without family you have nothing. The entertainment world will not take care of you when you’re old or come visit you in the hospital, only your family will, which in this case are my sons. We are very close. We have been through difficult times together which only made us stronger as a family.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Skinfly Entertainment story. Tell us more about the business.
As a producer and owner of Skinfly Entertainment, my job is to oversee every aspect of a film from beginning to end. There are a lot of moving parts involved in producing a film. My job is to expect the best but be prepared for the worst. I love the challenge of taking a hundred or so pages and making it something that people watch on the big screen. It is amazing how much work goes into the making of a film. It takes a lot of teamwork to put out a quality picture. Everyone on the set is like family to me. Creating the Skinfly brand which is responsible for the Street franchise is my biggest professional achievement. Street is in 241countries worldwide and has a growing fanbase on Netflix. There were many hurdles to jump creating Street and I learned a lot. I am proud and excited to announce I am working on the second film in the series Street 2 Death Fight. The fans are going to love what we have in store for them!
