Today we’d like to introduce you to Lisa Lockwood.
I was a welfare kid from Chicago who competed in the Miss Illinois USA at 18 then went on to join the US Air Force for a college opportunity. I became a decorated Desert Storm veteran and survivor of Domestic Violence. Upon leaving the military, I worked private security while attending university. I set onto a criminal justice path, became a 911 Dispatcher and then a police officer. I was promoted as the first woman on my SWAT Team and a Narcotics Detective while attending grad school.
Upon receiving the Officer of the Year award, I left law Enforcement and penned my memoir, Undercover Angel. I married and became a step-mom to three amazing children in Montreal. I divorced for the 2nd time and started over again in Chicago where I co-hosted a morning a talk show and taught Entrepreneurship at Columbia College. I wrote my 2nd book Reinventing YOU and continued contributing in the media and coaching new authors. Fast forward to today, I live in LA where I enjoy hosting a weekly tv show, “West Coast Weekly” for the JUL-TV Television Network and am pitching my Crime Show called American BOLO (Be on the Lookout) w/ Lisa Lockwood.

-From a decorated Desert storm Vet to a Domestic Violence Survivor
-From SWAT Cop to Book Author
Media Contributor to Collegiate Educator:
Author Coach to TV Host
We’d love to hear more about what you do.
After a series of career reinventions and loads of personal development courses, I started life coaching, which turned into relationship coaching and later, after publishing my books, author coaching. My books opened the door to contributing Nationally in the media and landing my own tv shows.
The best piece of advice I give to people in my book, Reinventing YOU, is to embrace your next calling. Don’t get stuck in a career you loathe because you invested in college education or a trade school. Allow yourself to venture into something that makes your heart happy.
What were you like growing up?
I was an introverted young girl in a family of nine on the Southside of Chicago. I was an avid reader who loved school and collecting stamps.
I played volleyball and learned to be more extroverted in my teens I developed a zany sense of humor that helps me to this day to break the ice in social settings. I cherish my family and maintain my friendships from my youth.
