Today we’d like to introduce you to Kaii Jaii.
Hi Kaii, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Kaii Jaii (KJ) is what I go by in the industry. I was born and raised in Gary, Indiana. I’ve wanted to model since I was eight years old. My parents supported me then and still do now. I started modeling my freshman year of high school, and I fell in love with it like I knew I would. And have been on that journey ever since, pushing to go farther and farther in my career while teaching as many models as I can along the way. I moved out to LA two years ago, on March 10, 2022, to pursue my dreams as a model, actress, and entrepreneur. I’ve met some great people and some not-so-great people along the way. I’m still on fire and determined to make my dreams happen as I see fit. As long as I keep God first in my life, I have absolutely nothing to worry about. My name is Kaii Jaii (KJ), and I’m a supermodel.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It’s been a rough road and still is in this current moment. Between expenses for living and travel, and that’s if your job is paying enough, all has or is paying a part in my journey to success. It’s not easy, but what helps is God, my sanity, my loved ones supporting and encouraging me, and me reminding myself of the goal at hand.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a creator so outside of modeling and acting I also draw and write. I’m working on a business plan right now to expand my brand. I also dance and sing for fun, but I’m definitely down to make an album record just to cross that off my bucket list. I’m amazing at doing makeup and I’m pretty good at certain hairstyles, and I am also a licensed barber. I wear a bunch of different hats, and that’s what sets me apart. To be a fashion model and be successful at modeling, hair, and makeup; I’m a one-woman show. People get surprised when I tell them I’m a licensed barber. The thing I’m most proud of is how open I am to learning new ways of being creative and to find out I’m also good at those new discoveries is such a beautiful thing to me.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
It’s ok to take a breaks just as long as you are not giving up on your self nor your dreams. Confirm all desires with God. It’s ok to listen to people and get advice, but at the end of the day, it’s your life, and you and God have the final say so when it comes to you. Maintain your peace and sanity at all cost. Always choose yourself. Trust yourself; trust that you know what’s best for you. Listen to yourself. Don’t ignore the signs.
