Today we’d like to introduce you to Judi Johnson.
Judi, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Striking a balance between being a creative person and an analytical person has always been a battle.
My creative interest began while growing up in a small town in Clarendon Jamaica. I developed my analytical skills working in Washington, DC.
What I found to be exciting is supporting those who needed help developing their business and creating a structure and flow so they can have a healthy work-life balance. Business owners should be happy too I thought!
After working as a Federal Liaison for a telecommunication company, I knew that was not for me. SO I set sails to find creative expressions and became an actress. Strange right! Well, I’ve been doing very well as an actress and producer but saw a need.
There are so many individuals in the entertainment industry who are pursuing a creative dream (acting/writing/producing etc.) and have analytical skills that can be used as a virtual assistant to clients in the entertainment field.
Intro – Virtu-Alli, a personal virtual assistant company.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has by far been a difficult road to manage. When starting a small business, you don’t know what you don’t know. Finding business mentors is important to me to bounce ideas off, to troubleshoot concepts and ultimately guide me along the path to success. There are so many compliance documents necessary for you to complete to ensure you are compliant with federal and state laws – many of which I did not know about. Having a business consultant (Alicia Barmore — http://favourconsultinggroup.com) and my accountant (Tenille Moon — https://www.tenillemoon.com/) in my corner has tremendously helped me becoming legit. My husband has provided so much support along the way. He is the founder of Peggy Beatrice Foundation (www.peggybeatricefoundation.org) and have had years of experience so he has been a vital piece as I develop.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Virtu-Alli – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
