Meet Jojo Mozafari of That Made My Day in Orange County

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jojo Mozafari.

Jojo, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
While attending Santa Ana College, I crossed paths with Canadian record producer, DJ MOZA in the spring semester of 2014. We got married later that year and I started working with DJ MOZA and LA rapper, Jallal.

After touring with DJ MOZA, Jallal and Yasiin Bey, I began to broaden the scope of my skill set and took on the title of Artist Relations Manager. I have worked with the likes of Malcolm “MJ” Harris, Freddie Long, Feefa, Jay Mula & Kresnt. With over five years of experience in the music industry, I work closely with artists to assist with brand development, publicity and social media. Here are a few notable brands I would like to mention that my clients & I have worked with: FashionNovaMen, BLK, Dr. Squatch Soap, Members Only, Bang Energy, Kaleos, hims, DUKE + DEXTER & Sprayground.

As an artist relations manager and social media influencer, my personal brand is primarily focused on showcasing my passion for music, helping others and introducing new things that will be of value for my audience.

I will be launching my slide sandals line “That Made My Day” by 2021, God willing.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
As a woman of color in the music industry (or any industry for that matter) you will unfortunately face many obstacles. The best advice I can give is to surround yourself with trusted individuals who have your best interest at heart. I am grateful for all the people who have supported me in my journey thus far.

Kalima Haneef – Host, model & singer. She sparked it all, I began my journey by being her camerawoman for red carpet events.

Blair Thompson – Entertainment journalist & founder of True Hollywood Tea. Blair introduced me to major media outlets & helped me build my network.

Ariana Dean – Public Relations & founder of Kreative Approach Productions. Ariana has been like a mentor to me. Her genuine personality allowed us to immediately connect. I know I can always count on her to advise and steer me in the right direction.
