Today we’d like to introduce you to John Corsa, Robert Warner.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
It all started slightly after John and I met. We were in the living room learning about one another which lead to eventual conversations on how we could utilize our past experiences to develop something that interested both of us in bettering the well-being of our shared community.
John has many years of direct wellness experience as a consultant in Boulder, Colorado. He has successfully helped many people through various transitional times with modalities that he fostered through his many years as a professional dancer.
On the other hand, I had a desire to help people that are going through situations similar to professional burnout. My background has been in fashion and design putting many hours into various organizations to reach profitability forgetting about my own self and personal wellness goals.
When John and I were discussing in the founding days, we decided that what was lacking in Los Angeles was a one-stop-shop for people to visit to experience counseling, fitness, and spa or detox treatments. This conversation lead to us developing the premise of Nandi Wellness Boutique. Nandi is private practice and each client has personalized one-on-one time to identify and overcome various roadblock to achieve a centered state of well-being.
I myself needed a place to have therapy, a place to work on my fitness, and a place to relax and recharge. However, working an obsessive amount of hours on a weekly basis prevented me from doing what I knew I needed. Nandi is a self proven avenue that has transformed my outlook on life. I applaud John and his innate ability to coach and communicate effectively. He has an unusual ability to use all the elements of the earth to help to reset and harness energy.
As mentioned, using each other’s strengths, we researched a major neighborhood of need and decided on downtown as the best place to put our practice. We often provide car service to neighboring businesses to aid in achieving a harmonious balance of stressors for clients.
When starting Nandi Wellness Boutique the idea was to be by invitation only. Since then, we have developed a great core tribe of clients that return on a weekly basis on a membership model. This model allows clients to identify, strive for, achieve, and MAINTAIN harmonious well-being. We do offer one off session as a tester to potential clients, but it is understood that regular sessions are needed to demonstrate true change.
Our growth momentum has been supplemented by invitations to do ‘pop-ups’ and lectures throughout California, Colorado, and (hopefully soon) Japan.
It is so cool to see not only change in our clients but to see change in our business model as we grow together.
Has it been a smooth road?
Fortunately for us, we each come from vastly different backgrounds. I was able to use my experiences in business and design to spearhead the logistics of getting the practice established and off the ground. I was able to negotiate terms, put the site together, space plan the practice, and initiate all the needed items. John’s input was noted along the way, and now uses the space to practice with Nandi members and to collaborate with various other wellness practitioners with similar objectives. Smooth sailing we would say.
Honestly, one initial main hurtle was having initial discussions with potential clients. People often overexert and don’t realize they are in need until it is too late (I did this).
Making sure clientele carved out dedicated time at least on a weekly basis was slightly difficult in the beginning. Most of our clients are super busy, as we all are, and often put self-care on the back burner.
That said, as time continues, conversations are getting easier due to the proven success of our practice.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
Nandi Wellness Boutique is a private practice that sees members on a weekly basis to aid in realigning energy and to provide wellness best practices. The business was designed to provide three complimentary services per visit to reach and maintain proper balance.
The services are:
Endermologie which is body and/or face contouring. This is a non invasive service that moves your lymphatic congestion in various parts of your body. We use one of the only FDA machines approved to combat cellulite.
This services is complemented by our Infared Sauna that aids in releasing built up toxins. The sauna is also amazing for stressed joints. (I practice my breathwork in the sauna for a deep relaxing experience.)
We also have a moment and breathwork series that helps to physically release tension and anxiety and to support muscle alignment and development. This movement is a combination of qi gong, calisthenics, bar/ballet, yoga, breath, and resistance bands/weights. These movements have a primal feel and when combined with our other treatments help to reset your energy. We do follow the movement session with percussive therapy to deeply stimulate tense or sore muscles.
We do ozone facial steaming which is followed by our exclusive sister brand’s skincare line–GoodFaceStuff. We also have ionic foot baths which create an electrical charge in a copper basin to pull out metallic toxins.
Nervous System Release is a form of counseling that helps to identify internalized issues to gently release them from obsessive thoughts. This is often paired with a variety of other treatments to achieve a rebalanced state.
Last, but equally important is that we offer crystal healing to support meditative states of relaxation and to focus energy to aid in creating an effective mental though process.
We do have a full shop of cleansed crystals for retail sale along with GoodFaceStuff (local and curtly free), Art of Tea (Wellness Blends), and Vybes (CBD) juices.
We do invite other practitioners on a regular monthly basis for traditional private yoga classes, acupuncture, chiropractic therapies, IV vitamin drip/B12 shots. We soon will be offering hyperbaric oxygen therapy to members to aid in physical healing and cellular rejuvenation.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Yes, Los Angeles is a great market because everyone is busy and is extremely body conscious and values proper energy alignment/mental clarity. This is a perfect market for our services and we always love hearing about practices that are similar to ours–we feel the more awareness possible the better!
