Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeannette Painovich and Patti Huber.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Jeannette and Patti. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Patti had reached out to me to discuss our individual practices and philosophies about well-being, we quickly realized that we had a lot in common, including being adoptive parents in a transracial household. Over the next months and several more meetings, we decided to open the Center for Integrative Health and Healing. Together our intention was to create a space for a myriad of ethical, highly trained, holistically-minded health and wellness practitioners to support individuals, partners, and families. Currently, we offer therapeutic services to address general well-being as well as chronic and acute health issues, trauma, attachment, adoption issues, fertility, women’s issues, anxiety, pain, depression, aging issues, grief/loss, nutrition, and chronic and acute health issues.
Since its inception, the Center for Integrative Health and Healing continues to evolve. Services currently available include:

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
To expect smooth sailing in unchartered waters is unrealistic. Our biggest struggle is to find other practitioners who fit within our vision and have an entrepreneurial spirit and willingness to work diligently in their own business. We wanted to create a sort of one stop shop for people to be able to address physical, emotional and mental manifestations of challenges that can arise. We want to feel confident that all the practitioners in the space are professional and approach change from a mind, body, spirit perspective, so when indicated for clients, we can cross refer and work collaboratively to support their well-being and any personal changes they want to make.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Center for Integrative Health and Healing – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
What we are most proud of – and was our first priority – is having created a calm, safe space for people to heal and grow. The number one thing we here from all who enter our door is how beautiful and calming the space feels. That was very important to us. Given the fact that neither of us are interior designers, we feel particularly proud of our creation! There are a few things that set us apart from others. The first is our specialty in treating individuals, partners, and families who are touched by any third-party reproduction (surrogacy, donor conception), reproductive medicine treatment, foster care, and adoption. This is an area that is sorely lacking in our community, yet in such need. Patti has spent her career becoming an expert in this area. Outside of her individual therapy practice she has created support groups – Families Built Creatively as well as Teens Supporting Teens group which invites teens who are adopted or created by non-traditional means. We are also proud that we have gathered a group of practitioners who can help treat wellness from all aspects of mental and physical health; from using traditional Chinese medicine and its use of acupuncture and Chinese herbs to psychotherapy for the very young to the older adult to nutritional and homeopathic counseling to spiritual and expressive arts programs to self care practices such as hypnosis, massage, healing circles, and meditation. All offerings keep the whole person in mind to foster personal change, growth, and well-being.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
We are looking to bring in restorative yoga, creative writing, personal transformation programs, a women’s circle, and qi gong after the first of the year. The Center for Integrative Health and Healing is as fluid as life, so we remain open to new ideas and additional services our practitioners want to share.
