Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine Davis.
Hi Jasmine, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’m a Chicago girl with big dreams, a creative imagination, and a passion for storytelling. I’ve always believed that life is too short to limit yourself to just one dream. Why choose one creative path when you can explore them all?
My journey in entertainment began as an actress and model, eventually leading me to opportunities in television, including The Chi, Never Have I Ever, and L.A.’s Finest. Being in front of the camera taught me so much about storytelling, character development, and the magic of bringing a script to life. But somewhere along the way, I realized I didn’t just want to be part of someone else’s story. I wanted to create my own.
That’s when I began expanding my vision through my production company, Saint JS Production.
One of my proudest accomplishments has been stepping behind the camera as a first-time director. In a single year, I directed my first comedy, Online Dating, and my horror thriller, Killer Revenge. Talk about jumping into two completely different worlds! One moment I’m exploring humor and relationships, and the next I’m creating suspense, mystery, and murder. But that’s what I love about being an artist. I don’t believe creativity should have boundaries.
Writing, producing, directing, and acting in my own projects has been an incredible experience. I’ve learned that sometimes the greatest opportunities are the ones you create for yourself.
And just when you think I’ve explored enough genres, I’m entering another creative world: children’s animation! I’m currently developing The Adventures of Zachary Beans, an entertaining and educational animated series that will be available exclusively on YouTube. My goal is to create something fun, imaginative, and meaningful that children can enjoy while learning along the way.
Today, I’m continuing to build my career as an actress, model, writer, director, and producer while expanding Saint JS Production into a home for different kinds of storytelling.
My journey hasn’t been about following one straight path. It’s been about evolving, taking chances, getting more involved, like taking Acting and directing workshops to learn new skills while networking, and having the courage to reinvent myself.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s this: Never put an expiration date on your dreams, and never wait for someone else to give you permission to pursue them.
I’m still writing my story, and I have a feeling the most exciting chapters are yet to come!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
A smooth road? Now, where would the adventure be in that? (Laughs.)
Absolutely not! My journey has been filled with challenges, unexpected detours, valuable lessons, and moments when I’ve had to remind myself why I started in the first place.
One of the biggest challenges in the entertainment industry is understanding that talent alone doesn’t guarantee opportunity. You can be passionate, prepared, and hardworking, but sometimes you’re still waiting for someone else to recognize your potential or give you a chance.
At some point, I decided I didn’t want to spend my entire career waiting for permission to be creative. I wanted to take ownership of my artistic journey.
Transitioning from actress to writer, producer, and director came with an entirely new set of challenges. When you’re acting, your primary responsibility is bringing your character to life. But when you’re directing, suddenly you’re responsible for the entire vision—from the performances and cinematography to the locations, scheduling, editing, and countless decisions happening behind the scenes.
And when you’re an independent filmmaker, you’re often wearing several hats at once. There are budgets to consider, unexpected production challenges, long days, and moments when you have to think quickly and find solutions.
Directing my first comedy and horror film in the same year was both exciting and intimidating. Each genre required a completely different creative approach, and I had to trust myself enough to step outside my comfort zone.
I’ve also learned that not everyone will understand your vision, and that’s perfectly fine. Sometimes you have to believe in something long before anyone else can see what you’re trying to create.
But perhaps the most valuable lesson has been learning not to measure my journey against someone else’s timeline. Success isn’t always a straight line, and reinvention isn’t something to fear.
Every challenge has taught me something about patience, leadership, creativity, and resilience.
I don’t look at obstacles as signs that I should stop. I look at them as opportunities to become better at what I do.
I’ve learned that you can either wait for a door to open, or you can learn how to build one yourself. I decided to pick up the tools!
And I’m still building.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I like to think of myself as a creative woman with a very active imagination and absolutely no desire to be put into one box! (Laughs.)
I’m an actress, model, writer, director, and producer, and the founder of Saint JS Production, where I develop and bring original stories to life.
My work spans television, independent film, comedy, horror, fashion, and now children’s animation. I love the freedom of being able to explore different genres because each one allows me to express a different side of my creativity.
As an actress, I’ve had the opportunity to appear in television productions including The Chi, Never Have I Ever, and L.A.’s Finest. Those experiences helped shape my understanding of the entertainment industry, but I also knew I had stories of my own that I wanted to tell.
Through Saint JS Production, I’ve been able to take that creative ambition to another level.
One of my proudest accomplishments is directing my first two films in the same year: Online Dating, a comedy exploring the unpredictable world of modern romance, and Killer Revenge, a horror thriller filled with suspense, secrets, and deadly consequences.
Going from comedy to horror was quite the creative adventure! With comedy, timing and humor are everything. With horror, you’re building tension, creating suspense, and keeping audiences wondering what will happen next. I enjoyed challenging myself to understand both worlds as a first-time director.
I’m especially proud that I didn’t just talk about becoming a filmmaker. I actually did it. I wrote the stories, brought talented people together, stepped behind the camera, and turned my ideas into finished films.
Another project I’m incredibly excited about is The Adventures of Zachary Beans, an upcoming educational and entertaining animated children’s series that I’m developing exclusively for YouTube. It’s a completely different creative direction, but that’s what makes it so exciting.
What sets me apart is that I don’t see myself as just an actress, just a model, or just a director. I’m a storyteller who enjoys exploring different forms of art, whether that’s performing in front of the camera, creating characters on paper, directing a film, or developing an animated world for children.
I also believe in maintaining ownership of my creativity. Building Saint JS Production allows me to create opportunities, collaborate with other talented artists, and develop projects that reflect my own vision.
And although I take my work seriously, I never want to lose the joy of creating. I love fashion, glamour, storytelling, a little suspense, and a good laugh. Why shouldn’t all those things coexist?
What I’m most proud of isn’t simply what I’ve accomplished. It’s having the courage to keep evolving and discovering what else I’m capable of creating.
I’m not interested in being known for just one thing. I’d much rather be remembered as a woman who wasn’t afraid to explore everything she loved.
What does success mean to you?
Success, to me, is freedom. The freedom to create, the freedom to choose, and the freedom to live life on my own terms.
Of course, I love beautiful things, luxury experiences, traveling the world, and enjoying the finer things in life. I’m not going to pretend otherwise! (Laughs.) But I’ve learned that true luxury isn’t just about what you can afford. It’s about having ownership of your time, peace of mind, financial independence, and the ability to wake up every morning excited about the life you’re creating.
As an artist, success also means having the courage to turn an idea into something tangible. There’s something incredibly rewarding about imagining a story, writing it, bringing together talented people, and eventually watching that vision come alive on screen.
But I don’t believe success should be measured solely by awards, fame, money, or someone else’s approval. Those things can be wonderful, but they don’t necessarily define a fulfilling life.
For me, success is also about growth. Am I becoming a better artist? Am I making smarter business decisions I hope so lol ? Am I building something that will last? Am I enjoying the journey instead of constantly chasing the next accomplishment?
I want to build a career that provides both creative and financial freedom, where I can continue acting, modeling, directing, producing, and exploring new ideas without feeling restricted to one path.
And just as importantly, I want to enjoy my life outside of work. I believe in beautiful experiences, meaningful relationships, good health, laughter, and making memories. After all, what’s the point of building an extraordinary career if you never give yourself permission to enjoy the life that comes with it?
My definition of success is simple: having the freedom to create what I love, the financial independence to live how I choose, and the peace of mind to enjoy everything I’ve worked for.
And if I can inspire another woman to stop waiting for permission to pursue her dreams along the way, that’s another beautiful measure of success.
