Today we’d like to introduce you to Haidar Giahi.
Haidar, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I graduated from Hamburg photo school in 1973. I traveled to twenty different countries to photograph people and landscape. In July 20, 1977, I arrived in New York City and opened my studio in Manhattan and worked with many different ad agencies and magazines. I moved to LA in 1985 and opened a studio on 1928 Sunset Blvd and was photographing celebrities and models, and products for many different clients. On September 1995 my studio was destroyed in a fire and I had to start all over again.
Has it been a smooth road?
Life is not without struggle, especially when you are an artist, and I went through many difficulties.
Who, or what, deserves a lot of credit for where you are today?
I was aspired by Legendary photographers who used light and creativity to capture images on Film. Helmut Newton, Richard Avedon, Ansel Adam, David Hamilton.
Do you have a favorite type of client or project?
I love to create with lights first and photograph. I love Fashion photography and fine art in BXW. Celebrity artists I have photographed include Burt Rainold, Wily Nelson, Rick James, Casper van-dine, Thalia, Jay Burnstine, July Stran, Chrissy Teigen. I have worked with respected advertising agencies and magazines worldwide.
