Meet Giacomo Thillet of Los Angeles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Giacomo Thillet.

Giacomo Thillet

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
When I was a kid, I would watch this show on Disney Channel called “Movie Surfers” where other kids went on set of big Disney movies and interviewed the filmmakers and actors, that was the first sign that I wanted to do something in front of and behind the camera. I first picked up my dad’s 8mm camcorder at around age 2 and never put it down. I’d make full movies with my friends and plushies as actors. Eventually over time, I honed in on this passion and made creative storytelling and my love for cinema my career.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Prioritizing mental health in the creative field was a struggle I’m happy to say I’ve gotten a lot better at managing and being self-aware of. It’s easy to fall into the money trap and lose the plot; sacrificing authenticity for the sake of social media numbers is just not an idea I subscribe to. For artists, the art is an extension of the soul, so it can feel like a blessing and a curse when it becomes your means of income, but staying true to my own voice while still creating videos that I think others would enjoy – mainly because I enjoy them myself – has helped me immensely.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
What started as a hub for nostalgic 90s and 2000s content for millennials quickly took an interesting path. I started making more comedic movie and TV-related sketches and one of them – about FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY’S – went extremely viral among Gen Z and Gen Alpha viewers *P.S. Blumhouse, Universal, give me a call for the third one 😉

N0STALGIAC is serving as my own sort of “channel” with different shows. N0STALGIAC FILM/TV highlights the latest news from the entertainment industry, as well as my perspective on them, as well as celebrity interviews like a recent one with Cheech Marin of “Cheech & Chong”. But the major draw lately has been my original comedy series MISSED INFORMATION, which a friend and fellow creator recently referred to as “The Onion for Gen Alpha” (which is an amazing compliment by the way).

It’s a scripted satirical news series discussing “brainrot” memes in the style of a serious news program. I’ve written, produced, edited and starred in over 100 episodes so far and it’s constantly the highest viewed and liked series of videos, garnering millions of views on average.

I’ve always loved making people laugh, no matter the demographic and I think that’s what sets me apart from others, no matter how old you are you can find something to enjoy on N0STALGIAC.

Besides creating my own channel, I’m also an actor (on camera and voiceover) who’s been in multiple commercials, films and series.

I’m most proud of my life as a husband, a father, a son and as a creator 🙂

What does success mean to you?
Success is whatever brings you peace. Whether that be a profitable career, a family, or even just a quiet moment.
