Meet Flo Rudoff of The Glo By Flo

Today we’d like to introduce you to Flo Rudoff.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Flo. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I moved from London to LA over ten years ago (yes, I still have the accent!) and quickly realized my passion for beauty. Wanting to disguise my British pastiness, I had to book a spray tan. Before I even paid for my tan, I made the decision to work at the salon. I made that salon my home for over four years and made airbrush tanning my specialty.

Just like everybody else in their 20’s, I found myself lost when it came to choosing a career path. I left that salon, bounced around different jobs for a period of time, only to find myself day-dreaming about spray tanning. Chit-chatting with amazing women and making them feel beautiful never felt like work to me. With the help of incredibly supportive friends and family encouraging me, I started my own mobile tanning business.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
One of my biggest struggles has been believing in myself. On a daily basis, I think to myself, “can I really do this?” An incredible amount of fear and self-doubt try to get the best of me, but I’m learning to ignore the devil on my shoulder and trust my inner “boss babe”.

Please tell us about The Glo By Flo.
The Glo By Flo brings spray tans to you in the comfort of your own home, or wherever you may be! I have spent the past five years perfecting my skills, and am known for making my babes feel beautifully bronzed every time. Inviting a stranger into your house, while you stand there in minimal (or no) clothing, can be an extremely awkward experience. Something that sets “Glo By Flo” apart is the relationship I build with every client. I strive to make every spray tan appointment a good old gossip session with your BFF.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
A favorite memory I have from my childhood would have to be riding horses through mountains in France. There was one time we stopped for a picnic and I signaled to the wild horses that we had food… MISTAKE! We found ourselves running down the mountain while being chased by a ginormous herd of horses, oops!
