Meet Even Wu of Even Life in Rowland Heights

Today we’d like to introduce you to Even Wu.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Even. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I was born in China and moved to Toronto, Canada at the age of 15. I studied Film and Media during my undergrad and decided to move to Los Angeles to further my film production education at the age of 22.

I am currently a MFA student at USC, majoring in film production, concentrating on film directing. I have always been a huge fan of milk tea, various kinds of milk tea. After moving to LA, I have been giving all sorts of milk tea store a try and never found my “Cup of Tea”. That’s why I started to have the idea to run a milk tea store of my own. Even life is a milk tea and noodle bar diner located in 17550 Colima Rd, Suite C, Rowland Heights. We have three signature items: they are Even Life Signature Milk Lid Tea/Even Life Fresh Fruit Tea/and Even Life Signature Beef noodle. All the ingredients of Even Life’s drinks are 100% natural and without any artificial flavors.

Our drinks are made from high quality tea leaves and selected ingredients shipped directly from Taiwan. All products are 100% guaranteed to arrive fresh and tasty. We test the tea leaves each growing season and all ingredients from time to time to ensure our drinks’ consistent and quality. Since I have to go to school and make movies all the time, my dear cousin Tessa Tu and her husband Marine Zhang are running the diner together. We have a saying in Chinese states that a woman and a man working together as couple, the hardship will decrease. As a filmmaker myself, I have also made some commercials for my Even Life. They are not purely commercials as they have storylines hidden inside. You can check them out here: https://vimeo.com/evenywu/evenlife.

I am confident and proud to say that Even Life serves the best milk tea and Chinese Style beef noodle in Los Angles.

Has it been a smooth road?
It’s not always easy when I am completing my Master Education at USC, freelancing as a film director and running the business at the same time. I was after all a 24-year-old girl when I first started Even Life. I am grateful that I have my dear cousin Tessa Tu and her husband Marine Zhang as my business partner and diner managers along the way. They monitor and manage the diner on a daily basis and the diner could not run this smoothly without their help and hardworking.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Even Life – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
I am the CEO and creative director of Even Life. I am also a freelance film writer and director with more than 20 short films and three feature films. I think Even Life is a special milk tea shop and noodle bar because all the ingredients of Even Life’s drinks and food are 100% natural and without any artificial flavors. No tea serves overnight. We insist on all of the ingredients safety; assure all of the ingredients can be traced from the origin. We combine farmer’s cultivation delivering seasonal prolific fruits directly. We deliver fresh milk from the ranch to assure the milk quality is fresh, pure and clean. We reproduce the ancient classic Chinese tea flavor. All the jam are boiled by us directly; never adding any chemical concentrated juice. Our drinks are made from high quality tea leaves and selected ingredients shipped directly from Taiwan, China. All products are 100% guaranteed to arrive fresh and tasty. We test the tea leaves each growing season and all ingredients from time to time to ensure our drinks’ consistent and quality. Most importantly, we make all the milk tea and noodle with our heart. Thus every cup of milk tea and every bowl of noodle is filled with warmth and love.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
What I love about LA is that no matter during day or night, I can always eat at restaurants or food trucks in hundreds of varieties, price, and ethnic traditions. Similarly, the arts culture and community is extremely vibrant and eclectic here. There is always something brand new to experience that is related to all kinds of art. The city of Los Angeles always keeps me busy and young.
