Meet Ethan Greenfeld of Ethan Charles Design in Studio City

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ethan Greenfeld.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Ethan. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I have always loved interior design even when I didn’t really know it! It sounds a little cliche, but I genuinely really enjoyed channels like HGTV when I was growing up. The first kind of project I did when I was 11 years old; my parents redid our kitchen and I was very opinionated about every finish and every color and every item. From then on, they didn’t make a decision without my input first for anything interior design related! I never originally planned to be an Interior Designer. My original plan and what I was in school for was sex and marriage therapy, but then I got my first job at La-Z-Boy and realized I really took an immense joy in the design process. I moved to my next job at another furniture store, and about a little less than a year after that I formed my business, Ethan Charles Design. My first major project was my parent’s forever home! We completely gutted it from top to bottom down to the studs, and by the end of their project, I decided this would be my forever career. I haven’t looked back since!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Honestly, the most challenging part has been expanding our clientele using social media. There are so many incredible designers out there, and we are a referral based industry. While we continue to be blessed with the referrals from our existing clients, we are always looking and exploring new ways to get our name and our work out there. In an effort to navigate the growing social media challenge, we recently started a new Instagram campaign.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Ethan Charles Design – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
We have a small team of five, including myself, and we focus mainly on residential interior design. We do everything from remodels to furnishings and decor. We really take pride in the amount of detail that goes into all our projects and strive to create designs that will stand the test of time and build an environment that envelops our clients the moment they walk in the door. We want everyone to always feel proud of their space and walk into their home with a smile.

The designs we create are light, bright, airy, organic, and uncontrived. The easiest way to sum up what we do is luxurious livability. Everyone on my team brings a unique personality and background to the company. I personally was raised by New Yorkers and spent a good portion of my life traveling back to NY to visit and spend time with family. What differentiates us from others is the way we meld East Coast and West Coast to create a perfect balance in the space, while never losing the face of our client.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
Continuing to grow my company! The current plan is to move into a brick and mortar location, but as of this moment we are excited to get out of quarantine and start working on a full schedule of new projects and continuing existing ones! We have also greatly expanded our E-Design program and capabilities to navigate this tumultuous time during COVID-19.
