Today we’d like to introduce you to Esteban Steven Escobar
Hi Esteban Steven, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My name is Esteban Escobar, known as Esteban Steven Escobar. I am an accomplished media professional and visionary entrepreneur with extensive experience in the media, public relations, and entertainment industries. I currently serve as the CEO & Executive Publisher of Diversity News Magazine, where I lead a platform that champions diversity, inclusion, and truth in media. In addition, I hold the position of CEO & President of Diversity News Media Brands, which manages several prominent entities, including Diversity News TV, Diversity News Radio, Diversity Pageants USA by Diversity News Productions, and PressReleaseEvents.com.
As a Radio Personality & Host on Diversity News Radio, I engage with diverse audiences on topics ranging from current events to culture and social issues. I also serve as the Director & Producer of Diversity News TV, crafting compelling stories that reflect the richness of human experience.
Beyond my work in media, I am the Founder, President, & Executive Producer of Diversity Pageants USA, a platform that highlights the achievements of individuals who represent the spirit of diversity and inclusion. Additionally, I am an Account Executive & Media Liaison at World Wide Vital Marketing & Public Relations, where I work to connect brands with their audiences and drive impactful marketing initiatives.
Throughout my career, I have been committed to uplifting marginalized voices and promoting positive change within the media industry. My mission is to create a lasting impact through leadership, storytelling, and community-driven projects.
My journey in media and journalism began with a passion for storytelling and a desire to highlight diverse voices that often go unheard. In 2003, I founded Diversity News Publications, which later evolved into Diversity News Media Brands in 2021. What started as a small independent media platform quickly grew into a respected source for news, entertainment, politics, and social issues.
Through Diversity News Magazine, Diversity News TV, and Diversity News Radio, I’ve covered red carpets, political campaigns, and community events, interviewing influential figures and advocating for inclusivity in media. Despite facing challenges, such as running the company purely out of passion with no financial compensation, I remained committed to my mission of truth in media and diversity representation.
Over the years, my work has been recognized by industry leaders, and I’ve collaborated with celebrities, business executives, and changemakers. Now, I’m expanding my media ventures, reviving Diversity News Magazine in print, and considering transforming my brand into a nonprofit to support independent journalists and media professionals.
My story is one of resilience, dedication, and the unwavering belief that media has the power to inform, inspire, and create change.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road has been anything but smooth, but each challenge has shaped my journey. One of the biggest struggles has been running Diversity News Media Brands purely out of passion, without financial compensation for myself or my team. Covering events, writing articles, and managing a media company require significant resources, and without steady funding, it’s been a constant balancing act.
Another major hurdle has been navigating the ever-evolving media landscape. With the rise of digital platforms and social media, traditional journalism has undergone significant shifts. Competing with larger outlets while maintaining journalistic integrity and independence has demanded adaptability and resilience.
Additionally, legal and business challenges have surfaced. For instance, I’ve faced issues with the trademark for Diversity News Magazine, which was approved but has not been transferred to me, as well as domain ownership conflicts that complicated branding and growth efforts.
Despite these struggles, my passion for media and advocacy keeps me moving forward. I’m currently focused on expanding my media ventures, reviving my print magazine, and considering a nonprofit model to support independent journalists and media professionals.
Each challenge has been a valuable learning experience, further strengthening my commitment to diversity, inclusion, and truthful storytelling.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
My name is Esteban Escobar, known as Esteban Steven Escobar, and I am the Executive Publisher of Diversity News Magazine and CEO of Diversity News Media Brands. I am a media entrepreneur, journalist, public relations professional, and advocate for diversity and inclusion in media.
Through my company, Diversity News Media Brands, I have built a platform that covers entertainment, politics, social issues, and community events. I specialize in independent journalism, media production, and brand promotion, providing a voice to underrepresented communities and highlighting stories that mainstream media often overlooks.
I am most proud of founding Diversity News Magazine and expanding it into a respected media brand that has allowed me to collaborate with celebrities, business leaders, and changemakers. I have covered major red-carpet events, political campaigns, and community initiatives, always staying committed to truth in media.
What sets me apart is my dedication to integrity, advocacy, and inclusivity. Unlike many media outlets, I focus on telling diverse and impactful stories while ensuring my platform remains independent. Despite challenges such as financial struggles and legal hurdles, I continue to push forward, expanding my media ventures and planning to relaunch Diversity News Magazine in print.
As I look ahead, I am exploring ways to turn my media company into a nonprofit to support independent journalists, media professionals, and community-driven storytelling.
How do you think about luck?
Luck—both good and bad—has played a role in my journey, but I believe hard work, perseverance, and adaptability have been the true driving forces behind my success.
I’ve had moments of good luck, such as meeting the right people at the right time, receiving unexpected opportunities to cover high-profile events, and gaining recognition from industry professionals who have supported my work. These moments have helped me expand Diversity News Media Brands and build valuable connections in the entertainment and media industries.
At the same time, I’ve faced bad luck in the form of legal and business challenges, financial struggles, and setbacks that have tested my resilience. For example, I faced trademark and domain ownership issues with Diversity News Magazine, which created obstacles in branding and expansion. Additionally, running a media company without external funding has been a constant challenge, requiring me to stay creative and resourceful.
Despite these ups and downs, I don’t rely on luck alone. I believe that staying persistent, working hard, and seizing opportunities when they arise have been the real factors that have shaped my career. Good luck can open doors, but it’s what you do with those opportunities that truly makes a difference.
